Tour Guide Rachel makes Alps trip a breeze
Kris_B
, Aug 2022
Our Guide Rachel Fischer (I think!) made this experience absolutely wonderful. It is/was a big group and her kind smile and calm demeanor helped a ton as we negotiated several transportation changes from bus to gondola to train etc... Rachel is also very knowledgeable about Swiss history and told us many interesting facts on the bus drive to where we caught the gondola at Grindewald. The tour is long, and much involves getting to and from places, but unless you want to spend more than a couple of hours at the top of Jungfraujoch, this is the most efficient and economical way to see all of these attractions. Also the bus is very comfortable. Tip: bring snacks for eating at the mountain if you have hungry teenagers along. It was hard to purchase sandwiches on top of the mountain, but we were there on a very busy and warm Sunday.

Very bad tour

Tour operators were rude, not accommodating at all. No regard for small kids when defining stop times. Actual cost of top of Europe ticket is very small and if you have a rail pass to till Grindelwald then no need to pay such high cost tour

Overcrowded tourist trap
Anne_G
, Aug 2022
Our tour guide was good but in general this tour was just an over crowded tourist trap. You spend 90% of the time traveling to and from the glacier, picking up and dropping off other people at different towns along the way. The glacier itself is like Disney world. It is SO crowded. You are packed in like sardines and there really isnt an inch of space to take a picture by yourself. On top of that, the only restaurants in the glacier area are buffet style and very overpriced. 2.5 hours is way too much time there as it really only takes maybe an hour max to go through everything. The tour guide tried to lead some people around but there were just too many other people around that I ended up staying almost the entire time at a restaurant. I wouldn’t recommend this trip. Go on your own early in the morning or later after the tours leave if you want it more to yourself.

Dear Anne, Thank you very much for joining our day tour to the Jungfraujoch - Top of Europe and for sharing your experience. With up to 5'000 visitors per day during the high season, the Jungfraujoch – Top of Europe is one of the most popular tourist destinations in Switzerland. While we try to make the journey as comfortable as possible with priority group boarding and reserved seats, it is unfortunately not possible to ascend to an altitude of 10'000 feet any faster. Taking into consideration that visitors also have to acclimatize to the altitude, speeding up the journey would not be in the general interest. On the summit, guests enjoy 2.5 hours at leisure to explore the many different activities. From walking through the Ice Palace to enjoying views over the Aletsch Glacier from the Spinx Observatory to exploring the history of the Jungfrau Railways on the Alpine sensation discovery tour: The Jungfraujoch - Top of Europe has a lot to offer! We are sorry to hear that the crowds hindered you from fully enjoying your experience. For your next visit, we kindly invite you to consider our premium small group tours with a maximum of 16 guests to authentic destinations off the beaten track. We hope that you will still keep your visit to Switzerland in fond memory and that you returned home safely! Best regards, Amanda from Best of Switzerland Tours

Disappointing
Ranjith_P
, Aug 2022
Location was excellent. But the tour conditions were not satisfactory. Bus had no mobile charging point. For a 12 hour trip to the alps, this would be very necessary. Guides were not good. They were not conveying information to every member. Its good to have a local guide than other country guides as they would focus on their own country people rather than all the tour members. The tour guides were not friendly either. Our whole tour experience was quite disappointing.

Dear Ranjith, Thank you very much for joining our full-day tour to the Jungfraujoch - Top of Europe and for sharing your experience. Our tours are operated bilingually in English and Spanish, which is highly appreciated by many of our guests from all over the world. To meet their needs, we have gathered a highly diverse team of tour guides from all different walks of life. Some have been born and raised in Switzerland whereas others have made a conscious decision to make Switzerland their home. What unites them all is the passion for our country and the people who decide to experience our culture. We are truly sorry if you did not feel treated equally to other guests and would like to sincerely apologize for this. Furthermore, we are aware of the lack of USB power outlets on our buses and apologize for the inconvenience this caused you. For guests that would like to charge their mobile phones or cameras, we highly recommend bringing a mobile power bank on tour. We hope that you will still keep your visit to the Jungfraujoch - Top of Europe in fond memory and hope to welcome you back on tour during your next visit! Best regards, Amanda from Best of Switzerland Tours

Not the best
Christopher_G
, Jul 2022
First of all, there should be an age requirement on this tour. Very small children should not be allowed. If you like riding on a bus with screaming children for hours each way this is the tour for you. It is very touristy and you will be hearded like the cows you'll see along the way. The trains (especially the last one) were extremely cramped and uncomfortable. Everything at the top of the mountain is crowded and loud to the point that it's difficult to enjoy the amazing views. We weren't allowed to spend much time at the top and definitely didn't get to do everything we wanted. Over all, for us, this trip was not worth it and we wished we had gone on our own or with a private guide

Dear Christopher, Thank you very much for joining our day tour to the Jungfraujoch - Top of Europe and for sharing your experience. With up to 5'000 visitors per day, the Jungfraujoch – Top of Europe is one of the most popular tourist destinations in Switzerland. While we try to make the journey as comfortable as possible with priority group boarding and reserved seats, the trains are usually fully booked in the high season during the summer holidays. On tour full-day tour from Zurich, we include a stay of 2 ½ hours on the summit. While we agree that this is not enough to explore every attraction in-depth, the tour is already 12 hours long and extending the tour would not be in the general interest. We are sorry to hear that your co-travelers’ kids hindered you from enjoying the scenic bus rides from and to Interlaken. We would have very much appreciated it if you had directed your concerns to your tour guide who would have had the opportunity to speak to the parents and to find a solution for all parties involved. For your next visit, we kindly invite you to consider our premium small group tours with a maximum of 16 guests. Not only do they lead to destinations off the beaten track, but they require a minimum age of 6 years. We hope that you will still keep your visit to Switzerland in fond memory and that you returned home safely! Best regards, Amanda from Best of Switzerland Tours

Huge Tour Group, Great Guides
Kevin_S
, Jul 2022
This is a big big group tour with two stops to pick up more people on a double-decker bus. Maybe it was so huge since it was a Saturday trip. I chose this tour because it was supposed to offer 1 hour in Interlaken, but we only got 30 minutes. Friends I met in Zurich had a great time on the competitors tour for the same itinerary complete with the guide ensuring everyone got amazing photos (hanging out of the train window, etc.). Our guides took pictures of people as well, especially those of us single, but when there are so many people, they can only do so much. I can't say enough positives about how Monica and Weilei. They did a great job dealing with the many unexpected challenges that came up throughout the day and were full of helpful information. I was glad there were two guides to handle such a large group of people. The bus we were on had a leaking roof and was often too warm but Monica and Weilei worked with the driver to block the leak and get it cooler since they would come through the cabin and ask how everyone was doing -- a very nice touch. They did a great job at keeping us informed when a traffic accident created an hour delay in returning to Zurich. Joining at Interlaken would significantly reduce time spent on the bus, but that only works if you're staying in that city.

A wonderful experience. Appreciated not having to drive the roads there and Fernando was a very helpful guide. Met nice people on tour which made solo travel more enjoyable.

Nice tour of Jungfraujoc
Chitharanj_K
, Jul 2022
A nice tour of Jungfraujoch with a touch of interlaken. Organised well and on time. If you are looking to spend more time in any of the destinations, this is not the tour for you. The stop at interlaken is just a coffee and souvenir stop, a short stroll at the park. Nothing much you can do in the allotted 45 mins. But quality time at Jungfraujoc. The tour guide Pedro was amazing.

Check the weather before booking
Georsadd_G
, Jul 2022
This is me being mean as we were not able to see anything when we reached Jungfrau. There was only one viewing deck opened because of the weather. So I suggest you book this tour when you are certain that the weather in Jungfrau will be nice.

Fantastic trip through the Swiss countryside and to the alps! Insane views and so much history explained by my amazing tour guide, Katherine! So worth the money and I cannot get over the views. This tour takes you through Interlaken, grindelwald and finally, jungfraujoch which is the mountain with the incredible views. I recommend this 100%. I went solo, felt safe, made friends and had a great time!

The trip to Jungfraujoch was worth every penny! The views from the mountain are spectacular and like nothing, you have ever seen before. There are multiple things to do on the mountain including viewing an ice palace, zip-lining (not included in the ticket but worth trying), and more!
