Returns to original departure point
Make your own way to a central Zurich location and board a comfortable minibus destined for the rural mountains of the region. Receive an introduction to Swiss cuisine from your guide and admire the countryside as you travel along the Sihl River.

Pass Zurich’s business district and arrive at Kilchberg, a charming town located on the banks of Lake Zurich. Disembark to try the treats within the Lindt Chocolate Factory outlet and purchase delectable souvenirs in the gift shop.

Travel onward to Adliswill to climb aboard a cable car traveling 2,630 feet (800 meters) up to Felsenegg, a vertiginous vantage point cradled by the Albis mountain range. Take a short hike through the dense forest and then settle into the terrace of a gourmet restaurant.

Sip an aromatic glass of glühwein (spicy mulled wine) in winter or a crisp glass of white wine in summer and watch the sunset over Lake Zurich.

Feast on a traditional banquet of crisp salad, Swiss cheese fondue and homemade chocolate cake and then return to your minivan. Relax during the journey back to Zurich, where the tour concludes.

Stop At:
Lindt Chocolate Shop Kilchberg
Continue south along Lake Zurich to the small town of Kilchberg, home of the Lindt Chocolate Factory outlet. Step inside and take a moment to inhale the delectable scent. Stop At:
Luftseilbahn Adliswil-Felsenegg LAF
Hop back aboard your minibus and travel onward for the 10-minute journey to Adliswil, then take the cable car 2,630 feet (800 meters) up to Felsenegg — a popular viewpoint located in the Albis mountain chain. From here, enjoy a short trek through the forest to a restaurant overlooking Lake Zurich. From the comfort of the restaurant’s welcoming terrace, sip on a warming glass of glühwein (spicy mulled wine) in winter or a crisp glass of white wine in summer. Breathe in the fresh mountain air and soak up sweeping views of Zurich and the lakeshore — the twinkling city lights in the valley below during the winter months are matched only by the glorious sunset and lake views in summer. Head inside the cozy, rustic restaurant, traditionally furnished with mountain decor and begin your meal with an appetizing salad. With your appetite piqued, feast on an incredible, all-you-can-eat Swiss cheese fondue — a highlight of your day. Every so often, stir the cheese in a zigzag fashion and dip bread into the garlic-seasoned cheese. Allow the thin layer of cheese at the bottom of the pot to turn into a brown crust — considered a Swiss delicacy — and share pieces of it with your group.
Duration: 2 hours

Average tour

We were excited to go on this tour however dont be fooled that you are going on a food tour it is not that at all. We were collected at 3.45pm at the station there was only 3 of us on the tour. The traffic was quite busy getting out of the town, we were then told we were stopping at the harbour for pictures which wasnt on the itinerary. Because of this and the traffic it ended up us having 10 minutes to look around the Lindt factory outlet as the shop shut at 5pm. We then went to get in our cable car and go to the top of the mountain for dinner. The dinner was nice, setting stunning , the Fondue was average and the starters basically fried food. I feel a bit cheated by this tour!

Dear Hayley, Thank you very much for rating your experience of our small group-“Zürich Sunset Tour with Cheese Fondue”. Basically, our tours only take place with a minimum of 5 paying guests, but as we did not want to cancel this tour and disappoint our guests accordingly, we decided to offer it anyway. If desired and if there is enough time, we include a short photo stop en route at the lakeside. However, we are truly sorry to hear that due to traffic and the photo stop you ended up having only 10 minutes left at the Lindt outlet store. We will certainly follow up your feedback with our tour guide to avoid similar incidents in the future and thank you again for your most valuable feedback. Upon arrival at the Felsenegg viewpoint restaurant, our guests enjoy a choice of appetizers together with a welcome drink. An assorted bowl of salad is served before you enjoy your cheese fondue. To round off the four-course menu, a home-made chocolate cake is served. Switzerland is known for its high standard of living and the high costs associated with it. Unfortunately, eating out is not exempt from this and may seem rather expensive compared to other European countries. We hope that you still enjoyed a wonderful stay in Switzerland and hope to welcome you back on our small group tours on your next trip to Zürich. Best regards, Best of Switzerland Tours

This was a very nice tour overall. There really isn't much involved, simply a stop at the chocolate outlet and the Fondue Dinner, which is of course the best part. It is a lovely view from the mountain top, seeing Lake Zurich and the Alps, and having fellowship with others on the tour. The guide was super friendly.

Even though it rained, the tour was wonderful. Our guide was great and provided historical and interesting bits about Zurich and Switzerland. The cheese fondue was yummy though most of the guests liked the non-alcoholic variety better, the salad was spectacular, and appetizers really good. And yes, now you get tap water with your meal, as well as a glass of wine.

This tour experience was absolutely incredible. Our guide was highly engaged and helpful while bringing us all around Zurich. The tour begins with a van tour of Zurich and a picturesque stop to view the Alps over Lake Zurich. After that it is off to the Lindt chocolate factory outlet store. Chocolate sampling is a bit of a loose term as you only get 1 truffle and then are expected to buy additional Lindt chocolate. Not necessarily a bad thing, just be prepared to spend some extra money. After that we went up to the restaurant in a little cable car and the views were outstanding. Once at the top we walked through the woods and were met with mugs of delicious and hot mulled wine and appetizers as we admired the view. The sun was setting and you can see all of Zurich, the river and even the Alps. I could recommend this tour on those views alone. eventually we went into the restaurant for a 3 course meal and it was delicious. We had salad, cheese fondue and chocolate cake. The food was amazing and I would definitely like to return to this restaurant some day. It is important to note that only the salad, fondue and cake inside the restaurant are included in your tour price. If you want anything else including water you must pay for it out of pocket. After dinner concluded, our guide took us back to the bus terminal while still providing insight about Zurich. I highly recommend this tour to anyone who wants to experience Swiss fondue and breathtaking views.
