Our tour guide was fantastic! He has a wealth of knowledge, was funny and engaging. He went above and beyond and was always open to answering questions. He even was gracious enough to help us with our luggage and drive us to the train station. We wish he was everyone’s tour guide!

From anecdotes to poets verse, our guide led us through highlights and lowlights of the battles and cemeteries in and around Ypres in 1914 - 1918. Our guide was as knowledgeable and he was charming, answering questions and providing color and insight to a sobering tale. A comfortable car, water and much consideration for our comfort and ease made for a lovely afternoon, highly recommended!

A Remarkable Overview of WWI

Soren will provide you with an overview of the Great War that is expansive in detail and is humanized through the use of anecdotal stories of the combatants. The visits to the cemeteries were punctuated by visits to specific gravesites of combatants that you will not soon forget. From the site of the first gas attack to walking through trenches you will come away with a thorough understanding of WWI. We visited “In Flanders Fields” museum the day after and were pleasantly surprised by how much knowledge Soren imparted to us.

Soren was an excellent guide. Knowledgeable, great sense of humour, added a personal touch with stories of his own ancestry and very willing to tailor the tour to our interests. A fascinating and sombre insight into WW1. Kindly recommended shops etc in Ypres after the main tour, gave my friend a wonderful drawing he’d done for her birthday and offered to wait for us to tour Ypres and take us back to the train station.
