Mount Vernon

The tour was good but the driver was very unprofessional as he continually made very bad and disrespectful remarks about the President of the US. He may not personally like him but he should not be talking about him the way he did. As I said - It was very disrespectful and he didn't know who the people were that he was driving around. He knew we all disagreed and he continued the remarks. We all felt it was very uncalled for.

Our tour guide, Bobby, was excellent. He was funny and very knowledgable about all of the areas we visited as well as little tidbits as we were driving. The tour was great, even under the Covid restrictions. I've been to the DC area several times but had not visited Mount Vernon and was really glad I did. We had a group of 7 including children and everyone was very impressed with the tour and especially our tour guide, Bobby. He's a gem!

DISASTER !

Worst tour ever taken. Sold as tour of MtVernon grounds with ticket there included. Purchased tour night before. Was loaded on bus then told Mt Vernon was closed. The tour did not check ahead on any stop. Tour ended up being a ride to Alexandria for an 1.5 hour lunch out of a scheduled 5 hour tour. Much of information for tour leader was inaccurate. Total waste and will be asking for refund. Last note the tour bus/van had a broken inside handle. Door could only be opened from outside. AVOID THIS TOUR AND COMPANY !!! I will wait for the company to reach out to me for an explanation on this disaster.

Well, I wish someone would have called me to let me know Mount Vernon was closed so we could have made some adjustments to our day. I was totally pissed off to pay so much and no respect from the tour company to even call. Would love a discount or all my money back.

Pricey for what was involved, seeing cost of ticket to Mt. Vernon is $20. Driver was pleasant, not a heck of a lot of information. Brought to Alexandria church where there was free tour.

Great time to visit Mount Vernon. No long lines of school kids. Driver imparted fascinating info throughout the trip. Mount Vernon itself was unbelievably interesting. The docents were great.

Great guide—good driver. I just wanted more time at Mt Vernon. Enjoyed the stops in Alexandria. Enjoyed Mt Vernon just too much to see and eat in the short time there.

Day Trip to Mt. Vernon

Perfect day trip to Mt. Vernon. Joe was extremely helpful in giving us background prep for the visit and along the way. The Mt. Vernon estate and museums could easily take 2+ days to visit and enjoy. This was my first visit, and it was perfect for touring the home, 1 walk to visit one area of the estate grounds, viewing one of the museum presentations, lunch and gift shop. On my next visit, I would like to book the same trip with Joe and visit other areas of the estate and museum.
