Great day
, May 2021
Awesome time on the tour and what better way than to have the brains of the operation Jenny who was our tour guide. We enjoyed our time on the tour and would recommend it high to anyone who is looking at a great waiheke island wine tour experience.

What a wonderful day. Jenny looked after us superbly. Very informative and all the places we visited were excellent and looked after us well. The food and wine experience was exceptional. Would highly recommend.
Excellent tour!

Jo was our excellent Tour Guide and she wowed us with her running commentary as we drove around Waiheke. Her local knowledge was evident as she was able to elaborate on information from each stop. It was so interesting to start with a tour of a world class New Zealand owned and operated olive oil producer. We sampled different flavours and learned about pairing foods with olive oil. Our 3 vineyard tours were amazing and all quite different. Once again, the food pairings were excellent, particularly at Peacock Sky. We would thoroughly recommend this Ananda Tours Gourmet Food and Wine Tour.
Memorable Day
, Dec 2020
Our guide and driver Michael provided a thoroughly enjoyable, comprehensive and interesting tour of the island and look after us with care and courtesy, holding umbrellas from the rain which did not detract from the highlights of the day. The food, wine and olive oil tasting experiences more than exceeded our expectations, was well arranged resulting in a busy and event filled day. We would most certainly recommend this tour.
Oysters, wine, and enhancing our knowledge on how the producers created their fabulous wine and olive oil.

The closed borders due to Covid-19 meant we had a tour of just the two of us. This made it very personal which we enjoyed immensely. Michael our guide was great fun, interactive, knowledgable. We loved every minute of it.
Great experience!

This was a great way to spend the day! I was fortunate to have a beautiful, sunny day for this excursion. The ferry ride was easy and our guide met us right at the harbor. David (our host for this trip) was delightful and took wonderful care of us, regaling us with great stories about life on the island. The wineries and olive oil were really good and the food was delicious. I opted to be dropped off at the village (rather than the ferry) for the return, which gave me time to browse the shops, check out the beach and enjoy more of the day. Wear sunscreen and comfortable shoes- especially if you plan on walking back to the ferry from the village.
Great Tour

Still talking about this tour 2 weeks later. Great wine, great food, new friends. Of all offer on the island, this was worth the money for the added length and food component. It is a little more expensive, but the lunch we received at the end and the local guided (island native Cam) were worth it. The early start helped with other travel plans. A couple of thoughts to the tour company: for the price the ferry tickets should be included (as is the case with all other tour offerings we saw). I chalked this up to the tour being geared towards people already staying on the island, but the reality of the day was that 80-90% of people on tour came across on the ferry. Also, several of us (5-6) on the tour continued on to a later lunch together and all agreed that there should have been at least one additional winery visited. 3 total over the course of 5+ hours seamed to be not enough.
Waiheke Island Amazing

Our guide Cameron was excellent. Knowledgeable and provided some interesting stories and history about the island. Lunch was outstanding. This tour provides a great overview and fun experience. Highly recommended.

This is the same review I posted on Tripadvisor Catching the ferry from Pier 2 in Auckland was easy enough. The pier was short walk from our Airbnb in the Britomart area. Unless you are staying on Waiheke Island, I would recommend you purchase round trip tickets for the ferry from here, that way you dont have to get them from the office at Matiatia Wharf on Waiheke Island, seems to be more convenient this way. The ferry ride was perfect since the weather was nice so the boat didnt rock too much, that is great for someone like me who doesnt have their sea legs. I did take something for that before the ferry ride just in case. The tour for us started the minute we left the pier in Auckland as taking in the views of Auckland and approaching Waiheke Island was awesome. As we disembarked the ferry at Matiatia Wharf our tour guide, Simon, met us and a very nice couple from Italy who was part of our tour which brought the total group count to 5, which was pretty nice. Simon was very professional and friendly with a great sense of humor. He pointed out places of interest, mentioned history and interesting facts about the island as we made our way around the area. In between each winery and points of the tour he stopped at scenic areas for us to rest and take in the views, snap some photos and just enjoy ourselves. Our first tour stop was the olive oil farm, a very interesting experience and we got to sample the best olive oil that I have ever tasted it was very fresh and flavorful. We stopped at 3 boutique wineries after that at each one had its own unique flair. I am by no means a wine expert, but the wines we tasted here were the best I have ever had. I never understood the complexities of wine pairings but I have a better understanding of it now. Our lunch was wonderful, there was more than enough to go around, very tasty and very pleasant company the couple from Italy. We left there entirely satisfied. When we left, Simon let us know he could drop us off anywhere between there and the Wharf if we were interested and gave us directions on how to get around, catch a bus or cab to get us where we needed to go. I was not feeling well from an ongoing cold and I had asked him to drop us off at the clinic they call it the surgeons office, he was more than willing to do so and before he left us he made doubly sure that we knew how to get back to the wharf. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone who is interested. It was well worth the cost I am surprised that they do not charge more. I am guessing if you convert the USD price to NZD price it would seem to be more. I booked this through Viator and the tour operator is Ananda tours, excellent service and excellent employees. From other reviews I have read, all their tour guides are wonderful, but I believe Simon is the best.
