This tour was very special, the wine tasting was very nice. The scenery during the drive was so beautiful and green. The towns Krem, Durnstein and spitzer were all so interesting and super old. It was so fun to enjoy lunch with our tour guide and the other guests on the tour. The tour guide Iolo, was knowledgeable and funny! We enjoyed his sense of humor, he made sure we all had a great time! The river boat ride was another very nice part of this tour, there is so much to look at out the window.

Overall a great experience and beautiful day with a nice host. I was a little disappointed not being able to see more of Melk and the abbey. I would suggest one longer wine tasting to enable more time to see the town of Melk. I was also quite angry that although the tour specifies ‘lunch not included’ -which is fine, I had brought some lunch with me-I felt ‘put upon’ into buying a lunch from the winery and embarrassed to admit that I didn’t want to buy any food as I had a sandwich with me. Something to consider would increasing the price of the tour to cover a lunch perhaps. That said, the day was lovely.

Hello R_W, Thank you for writing a short review about us. We are really happy to hear that you enjoyed the tour. We understand your concern regarding the lunch and we are sorry for the inconveniences. For the future, please just note that you can always eat your own food and you do not have to choose restaurant option. We hope to see you again when you are in Vienna. Kind regards, Vienna Explorer

Lolo was an awesome guide . Enjoyed every aspect of this tour . The wines are wonderful. There are not long boring drives but a series of short ones from stop to stop. The longest was one hour. In the summer you get a nice Danube cruise. . I truly recommend this tour .

Great out of the City

While the weather wasn't the greatest but what one would expect this time of year, traveled an hour plus outside of Vienna to the valley where we were able to visit 2 wineries for tastings a large coop and a small boutique both of which were very nice. Lunch at your own cost was provided at a beautiful location highly recommend the smoked trout and meat platter! because of the time year we visited Melk Abby which quite frankly should be a can't miss on your trip to the area. Overall the tour was very nice we had plenty of free time throughout the tour whether to shop or sample more wine! the guide was engaging and provided a lot of interesting information about the wine industry in the valley. for day away from Vienna highly recommend this trip

This was one of my favorite tours of all time. Small group of 6 with a great guide. It gave us to get to know each other and bond over good wine and food. The guide was charming and knowledgeable. A must if you only have 1 day outside of Vienne.

We had a wonderful, very informative and fun trip to the Wachau Valley with our guide, Tomas. He was a wealth of information without being overwhelming. The size of the trip was perfect, the stops well timed, and Tomas was very considerate of everyone's needs. What a beautiful valley with quaint towns.

Beautiful tour and wonderful guide and wine!

I highly recommend this tour. We were driven in a comfortable van with a wonderful young man as a guide. I do not recall his name but he was from France originally. He was professional and respectful and very knowledgeable on the wine region. The wine pours were generous at the few tastings. If you want to escape the city for a day I encourage you to book this. We stopped in a little village that was out of a fairy tale. The Melk abbey was stunning. There is not a lot of time at this stop, but enough to give you photo opps and to decide if you want to come back for a whole day. The boat ride was amazing. It was scenic and relaxing. Lunch offered options for all tastes. I rate this a trip a 10

I thoroughly enjoyed our tour to the Wachau Valley. Our guide, Hector, was very knowledgeable. Not only did he know the history of the region, he showed us exactly where the best spots were to take pictures.
