Go to "Fondamenta de la Sensa", after the Hotel "Ai Mori d'Oriente" on your side, you'll find a small street going inside. Take it, walk a few meters and you'll be at the starting point. If you need it, search for "Real Venetian Kayak" on Google Maps to make your life easier.

This activity will end right where it started.
Meet your adventure guides and tour group at the kayak outfitter office in Venice. Get a brief introduction and instruction on basic safety and kayaking techniques, then jump in the boats and take off. This tour is suitable for all levels of experience, guides will be with you every step of the way to ensure your safety and comfort. 

This tour gives a unique perspective on Venice: paddling through the canals, the arteries of this city on the water. Since you are exploring under your own muscle power, this eco-tour has a very low environmental impact. Throughout the tour, learn about the history, culture and traditions of Venice through your guides' commentary.

A Must-Do in Venice!

We had an amazing time on this tour. William was not only patient and informative when it came to teaching us how to Kayak, but his extensive historical insight and knowledge made for a very interesting experience. Kayaking through the canals of Venice was a lot of fun and I would highly recommend giving this a try, regardless of your kayaking experience. It’s a very unique way to see the city and you’ll have some engaging commentary and a lot of fun along the way!

Great alternative way to experience the Venice canals. Our guide was very knowledgeable, helpful and really patient. This was our first time kayaking and some of the canals were a little intimidating as they were quite narrow. However, our instructor was really supportive and on hand if you needed. We would recommend the 8pm onwards slot, as it was much cooler and we got to see the sun set. Wear comfortable clothes that you aren’t afraid to get a little wet, and if possible a small towel to dry yourself off afterwards. Overall, a fantastic experience!

We found the location using Google Maps but the only signage was on a recessed doorway which we initially overlooked as the alleyway lead to the canal. Unless you walked it you wouldn't know it was there. There was a small combined toilet and shower with no lock! No space to change although lockers were provided. The kayaking itself was enjoyable but my partner had never done this before and no guidance on how best to use the paddle other than to change direction, was given. Overall this was expensive given the lack of facilities

Our guide was nice, however I'm not sure Venice is conducive to a kayak tour. With 6 of us plus a guide it was hard to hear anything about the city, and often our guide's conversation got monopolized by the lead guest kayaker, and the rest of us didn't hear what was being said. That aside, it was an interesting and a-typical way to see Venice, and we had fun. If they could work out the kinks this would get a better rating from me.

I enjoyed learning how to kayak with my 15 yr old grandson who is an experienced kayaker. The guide took us through the canals & gave us historical information along the way. It was so much fun we weren't ready for it to end. It was a memorable experience.

The tour was maybe half of it what was planned since a thunderstorm hit us. We left maybe 20 minutes later than we where supposed to and the "informative commentary" was not there. The Guide was nice but still I'd say the price of 85€ is too much for the tour even I do get the fact that the weather isn't their fault.

As well as being very experienced with kayaking, our guide was very knowledgeable about Venice and was incredibly attentive regarding answering questions, asking what we’d like to know about this beautiful city (and even recommending restaurants). The trip itself was relaxing and tranquil an opportunity to see the real Venice via its beautiful, quiet, smaller canals. Our guide made sure we felt safe and the pace was perfect. A brilliant trip.

William is not only an English Italian historian, but also a kayaker AND a great tour guide who made us feel safe and finished our holiday off perfectly/ how lucky are Real Venetian Kayak’s to have him.
