Your action-packed day begins from downtown Vancouver. Make your own way to the meeting point in the morning, meet your naturalist guide and board the 60-foot (18-meter) boat for an exciting wildlife-spotting expedition. Aside from magnificent orcas and humpback whales, you may also see seals, sea lions, and sea otters.

Leave behind the bustle of Vancouver for the dramatic beauty of the Straight of Georgia. Enjoy hours of stunning views of the Gulf Islands, snow-capped mountains and verdant coastline before landing in Victoria’s Inner Harbour. From there, you have the afternoon to explore British Columbia’s capital.

Perhaps start with a self-guided tour of the city, exploring Victoria’s central neighborhoods and parks, browsing independent boutiques, and visiting landmarks like the Royal British Columbia Museum.

When you’re ready, hop aboard the complimentary scheduled shuttle from downtown to the world-famous Butchart Gardens—a National Historic Site of Canada. Take time to explore flower-lined paths, discover the many themed gardens and admire the remarkable landscaping. Pop into one of the garden cafes for a cup of tea or lunch (own expense).

After your tour, head to the garden’s private dock for your sunset cruise to Vancouver.

Great tour

For a Day tour, this was wonderful. ..a bit tight, but I guess that's the best that can happen in a full day! The crew were very knowledgeable and friendly. Of course, we were lucky to see a Humpback Whale Breach.. and a whole lot of Orcas (on the return)! Overall, I think it's a great trip to take!

Terrific Full Day Tour

What a great way to spend the day! We saw lots of orcas on the way to Victoria. The onboard staff/crew/naturalists provided terrific service, and lots of great information. The captain was VERY respectful of the whales, and kept appropriate distances for safe viewing. This is extremely important in keeping the whales safe as more charters get into the ecotourism space. We were able to wander around Victoria a little bit, and then took the bus to the Buchart Gardens. These gardens are spectacular! The boat picked us up at their private dock there; terrific that we didn't have to spend more time on the bus back to Victoria. And we spent a bit more time on the way back to look for wildlife. Saw eagles, harbor seals and more orcas. My only wish is that we had a little more time in Victoria - so that we could have done high tea at the Empress. If we had taken the last available bus, we only would have had 30 min at the gardens. If they could back our departure from the gardens out another hour, that would have been terrific. I had thought we would get back to Vancouver much later than we did...so that extra hour would have been appreciated. All in all, a terrific trip! Highly recommended.

good tour but not enough time to really see anything in Victoria. I would suggest giving yourself 2 days in Victoria. 1 extra to see the city. Beautiful.

We took this amazing tour on July 1, 2017, unknowingly booking the trip on Canada Day 150! What an amazing experience! The check-in process was really very easy. Our captain was Captain Chris and our naturalists were Tom, Cody and Ben. All four were just awesome. They were knowledgeable and enthusiastic. We did not need to go to them with questions. They came and sat with us and showed us maps, charts, etc. They showed us and shared pictures. They got blankets for us when we were chilly. They couldn't have been nicer. We saw whales going out and coming back. We also saw bald eagles, seals, etc. Victoria was packed with people because of Canada Day. It was a giant party. So much fun. We did cut our time a bit short at Buchart Gardens. They were simply gorgeous. Hopefully we'll be back some day. We will highly recommend this experience to all of our friends and family thinking of taking the trip to Vancouver.
