Not a good start but got better

This was the second food tour we had ever booked and had high expectations based on our experience in Seattle along with the reviews for this one in Toronto. The restaurant we were to meet at was closed and it set the tone for delay and some confusion. Our guide Ryan tried to make it up and it was a bit disorganized and my initial thoughts were to call and ask for a refund which we believe another couple did. We stuck it out and overall glad we did, regardless of the rain and initial confusion, the tastings were good. We appreciate our guide trying his best to make it right and realized this was not his fault so we rolled with it and made the best of it!

My husband and I really enjoyed the tour. The only thing I would change is to provide wet wipes and or hand sanitizer. Also make it known that drinks are not included.

Tour was fine although my taste buds were all over the place afterwards. The poutine fries were way too heavy and stifled the tasting that came afterwards. I would suggest replacing this with something a little more stimulating to the taste buds rather than stodge and leaving the sweet tasting until all the savoury tasting is finished we had the popcorn tasting in between savoury tasting.

This is an awesome tour if you like sweets! It also is great for helping you to find amazing stores like Toronto Popcorn Company that you may not have discovered on your own. Well worth it!

Interesting enough, but a tour isn't necessary. You can do the Kensington markers on your own.

Thank you for your feedback! We've heard back from the tour operator concerning your review! We're very sorry to hear that you did not enjoy the tour. Many people on the tour, including locals who frequent the market, have told us the tour helped to broaden their appreciation for Kensington, which introduced them to stores they would never have entered otherwise. If you wish to contact us directly with additional information about your experience, please feel free to do so! Our guests' satisfaction is very important to us, and we want to ensure that no future participants have the same disappointing experience you did. We do hope this response helps, and we wish you Happy Travels!

Our tour was led by a really lovely young girl called Phoebe. I liked her sense of humour. She wasn't to intense as a tour guide like a wannabe actor like some guides tend to be, she was chilled out. GO HUNGRY!!!! You get a nice little amount of snacks on your way around. Although would have been nice to have a sample of something for us to take home. As a part of toronto I really liked Kensigton Market. It's kinda like Camden, in London. Quirky stores, organic cheap food markets, multi cultural cafés etc. ithey don't allow any corporate shops there so everything's unique and family run. It's got graffiti everywhere and is quite run down but it's all part of the charm I don't want to go through too many details as I liked not knowing what we were going to try next. But the only thing I will say is that I would have liked to hear a bit more about the neighbourhood/Toronto than the history of chocolate. It's a nice way to spend a chilled out afternoon. Oh and also if you want to buy anything from the Bakery at the beginning buy it before as you end somewhere different.
