Perfect First Day
Alexis

This was our first day in Tokyo and Eri was the perfect guide. After booking, the tour company was very responsive via email to make sure we were seeing all the sites we wanted to see. A lot of walking, but we were thrilled to have covered so much ground on our first day. Wear your comfy shoes this day of your trip. Eri, our guide, was what made the day so special. She was personable and thoughtful - and spoke perfect English. We did the tour for three - including my sister and boyfriend. I couldn’t recommend this experience more.

Nice tour. Tour guide Tak very accommodating and knowledgeable. Took special requests for specific locations and found them for us. Best part was huge cotton candy store. Recommend for families. Really enjoyed it.

Good guide was able to accommodate our needs

Tak did a great job of showing us Tokyo's sights while still working with us to accomplish some things we needed to do. We saw a beautiful park that was overlooked by the new city. It was great. Then we went to the Olympics store which was a desire to get some things for our family. Since it was our last day in Tokyo, we needed to get some cut glass and Tak took us directly to the most impressive place we have been in in years. Good guide (and very patient).

Large Group Private Tour

Our guide, Skip, was terrific. Our private group had 10 people, and he was very informative and handled all of our questions. Also he was simply a genuinely nice person who was concerned about us enjoying ourselves and wanting us to learn about Japanese history and customs. The tour operator was easy to work with and they offered as much flexibility on shaping the agenda as we wanted.

Our guide Kazu was a terrific host. His English skills were very good, and he asked a lot of questions to make sure we were seeing things we didn't want to miss. He first took us to the subway and taught us everything we needed to know about this terrific mode of transport in Tokyo. That gave us a lot of confidence to travel alone later. He had a deep understanding of the Tokyo landscape, and took us to areas that suited us. Also, he spent extra time with us at the end. He was informed, friendly and cared deeply that we experienced Tokyo as efficiently as possible.

Tomo our guide for the day took us to the main Tokyo sites. Very informative and professional. We got opportunities to try and taste food at the fish market. We had a fantastic lunch in a small cafe which we would have never found on our own.

Sachimi was our tour guide and she did such a great job tailoring our private Tokyo tour to our teenage son and daughter. She met us at our hotel in Ginza and from there we visited Tsukiji Fish market, Akihabara, Shibuya, Harajuku and Shinjuku. It was a fun filled day with her. Thank you so much Shachimi.

Great introduction to Tokyo

As a family of 5 from London, on our first full day in Tokyo we decided to arrange for an 8 hour guide. It was the best decision we could have made. We were so fortunate to be allocated Kazu Kato as our guide. As we were staying in an Airbnb apartment in Shimokitazawa, we arranged to meet at the Hachiko statue outside Shibuya Station. From the start Kazu-san really enhanced our experience of Japan. He took us to a back street for breakfast, very local and so delicious! We then headed for Meiji temple and were in luck that there was a festival that day. Highlight of the day was probably Tsukiji fish market. We spent a couple of hours walking around and best of all, trying the market food. Most of the rest of the day we spent in Ginza area. But doing things it would be difficult to discover on our own. Like walking through a pachinko gaming parlour, finding the best bonsai shop or getting my younger daughters photo perfectly replicated on a coffee. It was so cool to discover behind the glamorous shops a small alleyway with traditional shrine. Kazu-san made sure to introduce us to tips of travelling on the Tokyo subway. Also recommendations for the rest of our stay, including the best yakitori place to eat that night. Highly recommended.
