Shibuya Bar Hopping Night Food Walking Tour in Tokyo

Lots of fun!!! Yusuke-san with MagicalTrip, was very personable and easy to hang around with. He taught and showed me several authentic Izakaya bars. Don't limit yourself try all the Izakaya food to get the full experience! So sorry, I was so in the moment that I forgot to take pictures of the bars.

I enjoyed the evening with Shun as we traveled between three bars in Shibuya eating and drinking. Shun is very generous with his time and very friendly. I have lived in Japan a long time and can go to bars by myself since I speak Japanese but it is easier to go with someone who knows the area. It was also nice to have someone to talk to who was educated in the USA as I was. Personally, I would be interested in going to Yokocho (back alley bars) in Shibuya or Ebisu. When I submitted the application form, I think it would have been good to allow for input of the places I was interested in going or have been before which could be shared with the host. In addition, Shibuya is an interesting place and there are many things to do there besides bar-hopping so it maybe good allow participants during registration phase to input if interested in any optional tours before or after the bar hopping.

Maho was a lovely host who took us to some great izakaya which I would have otherwise overlooked. The group was great to hang out with and this was an excellent introduction to Shibuya for my first night. I would recommend it to anyone wanting to get the know the area and make some friends

We took this tour only a few hours after landing in Tokyo, and it was a fun way to start our trip. We had a relatively large group that evening, about 10 people, mostly from the U.S. and Australia. There were two guides with us. We visited two bars where we had drinks and food and finished the evening at a sake bar. At the first establishment, we were able to choose either two drinks and one food item or one drink and two food items from a menu that was specific to the tour. At the second place, we got to pick two drinks and two food items. They had beer, wine, sake, plum wine or mixed drinks such as lemon sours and highballs. The food was very good - I particularly loved the rice balls and potato salad "pancake." Finally, at the sake bar, we were able to choose either a tasting set or one glass of sake. Our guides were great, and we enjoyed the entire evening, which lasted over 3 hours. I highly recommend taking this tour while you're in Tokyo - especially if you are searching for something fun to fill one of your evenings!

Our tour guides: Moeka & Saori were fantastic. One of the guides was in training but they were both so easy to talk to that it felt like were hanging out with some long-time friends. We never would've found the bars on our own because they were located on different levels of each building. We sampled a variety of drinks ranging from unique beers, pickled ginger mixed drinks, hot plum wine, to sake. We also sample delicious eats: fried chicken, torch blown beef sushi, grilled onion, grilled ice ball, and fish. All delicious. It was a nice to go to a few popular spots enjoyed by locals, since many of the places we had visited on our own were very touristy. It was also nice that the guides ate and drank with us which made the night more casual and fun. We had great conversation, learned more about Japanese culture, got to know each other, and received tips on other places to visit in the area. I highly recommend this tour!
