Beautiful Georgian countryside

A perfect and knowledgeable guide - and a very good driver. Difficult roads. Lovely food and lovely people - as everywhere here. All questions answered to the full, and in brilliant English. We had a great day and felt so good taken care of! The only difficulties were with the bumpy road - which was handled as well as possible . A very comfortable car.

Absolutely wonderful experience

This was an incredible trip that could not have been more wonderful. Our guide Levan and driver Mamouka were warm, funny and knowledgeable about everywhere we went. Levan has a deep understanding of the history of Georgia and provided great insight to the places we visited. Even though Mamouka didn't speak English, he understood it and would add jokes or stories to our conversation; my dad and I were laughing the entire trip. We stopped along the way to Signaghi for roadside sheshuli and homemade bread and cheese. Levan and Mamouka knew the merchants and we were given private tastings of the homemade sauces, wine, cognac and cha cha. This made the tour so much more personal, as we really got to experience Georgian hospitality. We felt like we spent the whole day with lifelong friends. I can not recommend this tour enough.

We had never been on a private tour before and this was our first full day in Georgia so we were a little bit apprehensive. Our guide Niniko, and her driver picked us up at the hotel and immediately put us at our ease. By the time we left Tbilisi we were chatting like old friends. Niniko talked knowledgeably about the various amazing sites we visited and interlaced the chat with insights into Georgian culture, history, and society. We thoroughly enjoyed getting to know both Niniko and Kakheti.

Great way to get to know Georgia

We had a great experience with this private tour. Renting a car and driving yourself is really not worth the trouble. The roads are non-existent for nearly half of the drive so you better have a local with you. Our guide was a great driver and we found it so great to get to know a local on the way, he was friendly, talkative and genuine. We recommend this trip.

Thanks for an unforgettable private day trip! The experience of the region, sights and nature was beyond expectations. A special thank you to our private driver and guide George, his knowledge, kindness and flexibility made him the perfect guide for us on this trip. We greatly appreciated that Viator provides drivers & guides with good cars and a good safety attitude.

A Fantastic Visit into Georgian History

We have just completed the tour to David Garedji, organised by Real Georgia Tours. We would highly recommend this tour to a fascinating location. Our guide Irakly was knowledgeable and very friendly and added to the experience. His car was comfortable and he took the time to drive off road to show us some interesting geological features. Hiking to the monks caves is a must for anyone of reasonable fitness. We are in our sixties and managed it though it is tiring. FIVE STARS

Breathtaking experience! the coutryside is wonderful, so is the site. We stopped on the way in a little village, copy of 60's commune without the drugs. An old lady showed us how she makes her bread. Just wonderful. We finished with a very interesting wine tasting session with little nibbles. Excellent

This tour was amazing. Not only the car was comfortable and the tour was personalized, we really got to know the real Georgia. The tour guide was a lot of knowledge in regards to current and historical issues of the region. In addition, we were informed about symbolism and legends.

This was the best tour I did while spending a week in Georgia and Armenia. I had had the same tour guide two days prior for the Tbilisi walking tour, so it was great to see him again. We were able to continue our discussions about Georgian history and politics. For me the highlight was the David Gareji caves and the trip to them. This area of Georgia has beautiful rolling green hills with no one there except a few sheep herders. At the site you travel up behind the ridge where the monastery is, get to see into Azerbaijan, and look around in the rooms carved into the hillside. If we had only done this part of the tour I would have been very satisfied. The rest of the trip, with visiting Bodbe and sampling local foods, was decent.

Even though I did this tour in November, certainly not high season, it was a great experience. My guide Levan was great and provided fantastic insights into Georgian culture and way of life. The stop in Signagi was nice, although in off season there really isn't much there. The visit to the David Gareji caves was great though - especially being able to climb up to the Azerbaijanian border with the most amazing view over the two countries. Its a steep hike - but very much worth it!
