Beautiful waterfall and nice variety of wineries.

Unique experience combining waterfall and wine tasting. The lunch with the vintner was great and the guide was pleasant. There were really only two concerns with the trip. Firstly the van was not really of a size for the number of people booked so was cramped. Second the guide was misleading about the walk to the falls stating the bottom of the inclined trail was the end and the falls were “right there” when actually there was a good distance after that with a lot of stairs. However the falls themselves were very pretty and the tour was overall a good time.

Hi Lee! Thank you for joining us to explore some of Seattle's natural beauty and a few of Washington's beloved local winemakers. We're glad that you had a great experience overall and appreciate your feedback. We'll use it to review our online descriptions and create better expectations for our tours. For those who are reading along, I can provide some greater detail right here! Our nature walk at Snoqualmie Falls is 1.6 miles long with some steep sections and about 375 feet elevation drop/gain. (We are walking from the top of this massive waterfall down to river's edge.) It provides a good introduction to Washington's forests and native flora which is why we encourage folks to check it out. And the best part is, you don't have to hike back up if you don't want to; our guides usually grab the vehicle and drive around to pick up our guests at the bottom. As for vehicles, we could get larger ones--mini buses or motor coaches--but the reason people choose to travel with us is for the intimate, small group experience and the ability to go beyond where a bus could reach. Our smaller vehicles allow us to have a conversation with our guests without microphones or speakers so we can converse with you, not talk at you. Our group sizes are even smaller throughout the COVID-19 pandemic as well, with only 7-8 guests in our 12-passenger vans. Our tours are meant to be accessible for a range of abilities, so if anyone has questions and wants to make sure this tour is right for them, don't hesitate to give us a call! Thanks again, Lee!

Excellent experience. The falls are magnificent and was running heavy when we were here. The wineries we went too were scenic and had tasty selections. Kevin, our tour guide was the best. Personable , knowledgeable and very attentive to our needs. He made this a superb experience.

Stephanie was a great tour guide - very knowledgeable about the locale and very knowledgeable about wine - she’s a sommelier! Falls are beautiful! Had a very lovely and delicious lunch on the patio overlooking the gardens of a local wine estate with the owner of Wm Grassie Wine Estates I defInitely recommend!

wonderful day

great day traveling with our guide Alex and 8 other very fun and friendly tourists. After a visit to the Falls and lovely walk through the woods, we went to one winery where lunch was provided outdoors. Winemaker was available to us almost exclusively. While not like California or Traverse City wineries with acres of vines on site, the driver was pleasant and well informed, and the wines were good quality and the day was memorable.

Hi AnnM433: Thank you for choosing to taste wine with us! I hope that your introduction to Washington wine was a success and that you'll travel with us again to the vineyards on the eastern side of state! Have a wonderful finish to your summer! Clare, WA Wine Program Manager

Great trip. Kevin, tour guide, was quite knowledgeable. Even brought lunch and snacks for our group of 9. Went to 3 wineries 2 would have been sufficient. Trip was 8 hours. All in all, a fun day.

Picked this wine tour because of the hike to the waterfall being included. It was worth it! Beautiful scenery on the hike, awesome guide who was very knowledgeable and visits to small, intimate wineries. Would definitely recommend it.

We do a lot of tours. Because this was a wine tour, we upped the ante and opted for a smaller group tour. This is among the most expensive tours my wife and I have ever done. The transportation was a positive. Pickup and drop-off at my hotel. The van was in good shape. Mercedes, I think. There were 9 people total on the tour, so small as promised. Snoqualmie Falls was an interesting locale. Our guide knew virtually nothing about it unfortunately. Her expertise was wine and that was sort of a side-gig. Forgivable. I'm used to tour guides utilizing long driving trips to give background on the area, the subject matter of the tour, history, interesting stories. Our tour guide was really more of a driver than anything else. Nothing of any interest to offer. She let the group chat it up with each other instead. Maybe it's a matter of preference. The ad for this tour includes Ste Michelle Winery. Our guide simply tried to skip that one until others in our group complained. Then, in a plan change after having been busted, we went there but the tasting bar was closed because it was too late in the day. The guests should not have to manage the tour. There shouldn't be last minute change of plans when you're asking for this much money. the best winery in the area should have been the rule, not the exception. These are wineries, not vineyards. This is not Sonoma. You will be going to wine storage facilities - tasting rooms - not walking through grape fields. At one point, we went to a winery that was in a cluster with 2 dozen other wineries - it was like a corporate park where all the storefronts were wineries. I realized THAT is what we should have done. Just rented a car and spent the day walking through any interesting wineries in that cluster - that would have been cheaper and offer a greater selection. It's terrible to feel like you made a mistake during an activity. Especially an expensive one. The actual wineries we visited were: (1) a dude's house out of which he sells wine - this is where you eat lunch. The wine here was pretty decent. The lunch provided by the tour was good. (2) one of the wineries in that commercial park (no one in our group liked the wine); and (3) just some of the worst wine I've ever tasted coupled with ridiculous stories told by a very drunk winery owner. That last one I could not wait to get out of. Maybe I was a Debbie downer. I'm giving this an average because others in the group seemed pleased.

Hi Huckleberrychowhound: I’m so sorry to learn that your experience in Woodinville wasn't all that you'd hoped it would be when you booked this tour! We try to organize tours that show the unique aspects of the Washington wine industry – such as the production facilities where the wine is bottled and aged, or old farm houses and garages that have been converted to wineries. We know that Chateau Ste Michelle is the most well-known winery in Washington, and do our best to accommodate interest in visiting this winery, but try to avoid stopping there on weekends due to a large number of events and increased traffic during the summer months. Our guides are encouraged to change plans on their tours based on guests’ interests, and I apologize that this change of plans did not flow smoothly for your group that day. We want our guests to have confidence in our guides and their ability to approach the day with flexibility. You are right – it is our responsibility to plan a great day, and shouldn’t have fallen on you or the rest of the group! Wine tasting in Washington is very different to California; we know it’s unusual, but we are really proud of our growing wine community here across the state. The corporate district that you referred to is the Warehouse District and is home to the largest number of wineries per capita in the world! Unfortunately the vineyards are a 3-5 hour drive from our population centers in Washington which leaves the winemakers responsible for bringing the wine to the people! We want to introduce visitors to the Seattle area to WA wine even if we cannot make it all the way to the vineyards of the Yakima or Columbia Valleys. I would love the opportunity to make things right with you, and we appreciate the time you took to share your feedback with us. If you have 5 minutes, I would love to give you a call so I can learn more about your experience and where we can grow as a team. Thank you, Clare, WA Wine Program Manager

I'm a little late in writing this, but...

I'm a little late in writing this, but better late than never! I would definitely recommend this tour! We got to see so much of the area, taste some fantastic wine, eat some absolutely delicious food, all with a personable and friendly guide! My only issue with the whole day was that if you're sitting in the back of the van you can't hear the guide as she's telling you about the surrounding area. I wish they could hook up some kind of a microphone to the car's sound system! A large pass van driving on the highway is not a quiet thing and I'm a bit bummed I missed some of the fun facts. But don't let that deter you from booking, it still was a fantastic day!
