Not as described!! Dissapointed...

Started great..Bee Company and Chau Bella exactly what I expected based on the tour description. We were seated, served and Met Chef..great description of the food and awesome atmosphere. EXCELLENT! The next stops were disappointing to say the least. The tour write up said experience some of Savannah restaurants before they open....NOT..The locations were packed...no seating..no chef just the equivalent of a Panara. Drinks took forever..double charged our credit card...guide said that happens often at this stop. One stop guide told us to enter and fill cups at the fountain for drinks and she would be out with food..then we walked a block away and ate outside an old theater..no seating, people exiting and entering the theater. Leopold Ice cream she went in, brought ice cream to us across street where we stood and ate it.....very very dissapointed..no southern charm. Expected more for the price and description. Sorry...I'm usually easy to please. This did not stand up to its description.

Thank you for your feedback. We truly regret that our description of the tour was not clear for you and that you felt like you did not get what you were expecting. Cha Bella is not open for the public during the day and the secret access at Mint To Be Mojitos is part of what we were describing. Additionally, we have the deal worked out with Leopoold's so that you didn't have to wait in the 45-minute line to get your ice cream. We will take a look at our language to make sure that future guests understand what they are getting. Thank you for bringing it to our attention.

The food overall was good. We were hoping to learn a little more about the history of the local foods and restaurants. Also would have liked to go to some of the historic restaurants in the area.

Thank you for your feedback. You absolutely should have learned about the history of the local foods and restaurants. We will look into why that did not happen on your tour.

Fun food tour

I really enjoyed this low-key food and historical tour with Cindy. It started off with honey tasting at an adorable shop and then moved on to food, drinks and stories of Savannah. Everything was delicious! This isn’t a fancy chefy/foodie tour, which some may expect, but it does introduce you to some places that tourists would most likely overlook like amazing sandwiches at Zunzi’s. When I’m back in Savannah, I can’t wait to have a full meal at farm-to-table Cha Bella. Also, be sure to come on an empty stomach and enjoy a cocktail or two while you walk through the squares.

Way over priced.
Beth_C
, May 2022
Way overpriced for what you got. Each place but one had less than a couple of dollars invested in the food. Very hot and had to ask for water at most places because they expected you to purchase their drinks. First place was honey tasting and a piece of cheese and 15% off any honey purchase. Really?
