San Antonio Zoo
At the Africa Live! exhibit, see underwater views of hippos and Nile crocodiles. Trek to see okapi, African wild dog, dwarf mongoose, colobus monkey, a giant aviary, and a termite mound. The Savanna is an exciting exhibit that is home to three giraffes as well as birds and zebras. We also offer daily opportunities to feed at the interactive feeding station. At Kronkosky’s Tiny Tot Nature Spot, designed for kids under five, tiny explorers can dig, climb, get wet (bring your swim diapers), and get dirty as they uncover and discover nature’s wonders. Visit Amphibia to see anything from dart frogs to the tiniest salamanders and learn how you can help save amphibians of the world. At Big Cat Valley, home to a new lion habitat, guests can get face-to-face with these magnificent animals – making for an unforgettable, unique experience while visiting the zoo. You can also feed our flock of Caribbean flamingos, and come in close contact with beautiful and gregarious small parrots.

We went July 2. Don't recommend going in the summertime, the animals weren't really active and a lot either were not there or they had them inside because of the heat.

Feeding the flamingos was a great experience for the family. The team did a great job explaining how to feed them and telling us the story.

Was the best experience by far. Better than Dallas and Abilene put together. Although I would have loved to see some Gorillas. Big bummer there!!! Still the best!!!

The thing that ruined it...
Susan_O
, Mar 2022
The thing that ruined it was that you booked me for an extra day and I had to pay an extra 75.00. I booked it for March 14th and it booked for 15th. I tried to get a refund and it wouldn’t let me so I had to go back and pay another 75.00 for the 14th. I will not be booking with you anymore.

Thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts and concerns about your recent visit to San Antonio Zoo. It seems that we did not meet or exceed your expectation when it comes to your experience. We would sincerely like to apologize. Did the refunds you requested get processed?

Entry to the Zoo was complete chaos!
Carolin_S
, Mar 2022
The process to enter the zoo for parking was horrible and it took over an hour. Once we finally were able to park and walk to the zoo we were held up at the gate entry. The agents couldn’t scan our tickets and held us up for about 10 minutes. Finally my husband downloaded the tickets (which none of the multiple workers who tried to assist suggested). Once we entered the zoo it was a nice experience and the kids had fun. We also took them on the train and it was not thrilling at all. No animals, lots of brush and trash. We probably will not return. The Houston zoo is much better!!

Avoid crowds of Spring Break
Lisa_M
, Mar 2022
I think because it was the first official day of Spring Break in Texas, the crowds were very large and there were so many strollers and wagons to maneuver around. I'd pick a slower day to go next time.
