A Great Tour in Old Salem
Charlotte_A
, Oct 2021
This was one of our last stops on a 3-week tour of New England. My husband and I had prepared for the tour by listening to the first season of the Unobscured podcast on the Salem witch trials. Ken’s narration of the sites was pretty close to what we learned from the podcast and we were struck by the human rights issues that were highlighted by the tour. We also loved that the tour was about more than the witch trials. Ken did a great job of pointing out architecture, 17th century buildings, and the homes of many famous authors. It was a treat to walk through the two cemeteries we passed, as well as learn about ties to modern day stories, like Hocus Pocus. The group was not too big, the tour was the right length, and Ken was generous with recommendations on other sites and museums to visit. It was very worthwhile, and I highly recommend this tour.

Kenneth was an exceptional tour guide - VERY knowledgeable, entertaining and full of passion for Salem's history. His stories were full of heart and I appreciated him teaching us about some of the most unique aspects of Salem, and the harrowing witch trials. My husband, teenagers and I were engrossed the entire time - it was a great history lesson for us, and enjoyable to walk around and get away from the noise and congestion and really listen to his stories while checking out some of the most important and interesting historical parts of town. Thank you, Kenneth!

Kenneth was absolutely lovely. A wonderful tour guide who was as entertaining as he was knowledgeable. Despite taking this tour in October when Salem is packed, Kenneth was able to get us out of the busy areas of town to allow us to breathe a little easier as we walked the gorgeous historic neighborhoods and adorable side streets of the area. You could tell he truly enjoys what he does and cares deeply for sharing the stories of Salem with others. This tour is perfect for people who want to learn about more than just the spooky stories of Salem, all while meandering beautiful historic tree lined streets. I am unable to reccomend this tour enough. Kenneth was truly a delight and we would 100% do this again.
