Your tour begins at your Reykjavik hotel, where you board a Wi-Fi-equipped minibus. Over the course of your tour, discover the highlights of the Golden Circle, a 185-mile (300-km) route home to spectacular natural landmarks.

The first stop is Kerid, a crater lake filled with milky blue water that cascades down black and red rocks.

Then, stop at Efstidalur farm to sample Icelandic delicacies and learn about traditional agricultural practices.

Continue on to Geysir and Strokkur, whose boiling mud pits and erupting geysers create an incredible sight.

See, too, the colossal Gulfoss Waterfall, whose powerful torrents of water plunge into a deep crevasse 105 feet (32 meters) below.

The final stop is Thingvellir National Park, where the Eurasian and North American tectonic plates collide. Marvel at vast landscapes littered with rock formations and geysers before embarking your vehicle and arriving back in Reykjavik.

Best Way to Tour Golden Circle

This is a perfect way to tour the Golden Circle. Our tour guide was fantastic and extremely informative. Our stops were well timed and the bus was a very stress-free and comfortable way to get around. Our tour was in August.

Fun trip very informative. I’ve Cave tour was amazing our guides were great they knew the area very well. They tailored it to the group as there were some elder tourists so it wasn’t so difficult. Highly recommend it

Stunning landscape, topped with a Icelandic horse show that made the most expensive tomato soup more bearable.

This was a great tour. Our tour guide was very informative and personable. The tour is on a time schedule so it takes the cooperation of all the passengers to adhere to the timetable. There is limited time at each site so if you need to take more time at each site, I would recommend taking individual tours to each site. But if you have limited time, like us, this was a perfect tour. To the tour company. I would suggest a little less time at the tomato and horse farm, for a little more time at the other sites. While we enjoyed seeing and learning about horses and tomatoes, 15 more minutes at the other 3 sites would have been worth it. While we were up against time due to nightfall, perhaps in the summer months the tour could be extended 1 hour. Otherwise the sites are all fantastic and the tour guide was great.

Golden Circle Tour

Spend a few extra dollars and add the tomato production and horse farm... really fun and great lunch spot! The falls were a highlight of the trip... mind blowing in any kind of weather. Our driver, Thora, was great and a very good and safe driver even when road conditions declined. We could have skipped the crater and the geyser, but our perspective was tainted by the fact that we've seen Crater Lake in Oregon and Yellowstone. It was a very enjoyable day overall. The National Forest, Rift Valley, was amazing... a must see!

We enjoyed our trip thoroughly and thought the tomato/horse farm was a great change up in the day of geological highlights. Our guide, Thora, was wonderful, very knowledgeable and with a good sense of humor. Additionally the smaller sized group was quite pleasant.

It was ok

Tour was good stopped at most the highlights around the golden circle. Driver was supposed to drop us off at hotel as that’s what I paid for but because of “traffic” dropped us off down the road across the street. I’m 6 months pregnant and it was raining plus it would’ve taken him 2 extra minutes if any. Since I paid for the premium service I expected a little more.

Really good trip and it proves how a good guide (Thora i guess that's how her name is spelled) makes total difference. Loved her commentaries and it makes you connect with the locals.

Best Tour I had in Iceland

Worth every penny, booking this small group tour, over the big/large bus tour, for the golden circle tour. I also can’t say enough about our guide, “Howser”. If you can get the tour with Howser, then do it! This man was one of the best tour guides, I’ve ever had, and I’ve been on a lot of tours. His complete knowledge on Iceland, it’s history, geography, are beyond belief. It’s not just that though, he was so much fun, and his personality, makes this tour fun from start to finish.
