Return Details

Returns to original departure point
Meet at the BSI Bus Terminal, where you’ll board a climate-controlled vehicle destined for your first stop—the UNESCO-listed Thingvellir National Park.

Explore the site in your vehicle, stopping to capture photographs of the park’s striking landscapes and listening to history-rich commentary that dates back to 93 AD. Then, proceed to a geothermal area named Geysir Geyser to watch powerful streams of water emerge from the earth’s molten core.

From here, you’ll travel to the Langjökull glacier to embark on a snowmobile adventure. Before boarding your vehicle, receive a detailed safety briefing from your instructor and don the necessary protective equipment. Two to a snowmobile, you’ll ascend to the glacier’s summit and enjoy panoramic views of Iceland’s striking scenery.

Exhilarated, return to your vehicle and make your final stop at Gullfloss Waterfall, a staggering waterfall originating from a glacial lake. Capture sufficient photographs of the natural wonder and then relax during the journey back to your original departure point in Reykjavik.

An Easy and Fun way to Hit highlights of the Golden Circle and fly across a Glacier

So as people only staying for 6 nights and all of those in Reykjavik, we found this an amazing tour. The pick-up point is BSI bus terminal, which was a short 15-20 min walk from our hotel and a place you will get familiar with really quickly if departing for a lot of excursions from Reykjavik. We were picked up in a comfortable bus that had USB chargers and excellent wifi (we had a gopro and were able to upload videos of our excursions at astonishing speeds). You drive for about 1-2 hours between each stop, but they give you great interesting tidbits of history and trivia as you go along. We first stopped at Thingvellir National Park, where there is an observation platform and it was simply breathtaking (plus, Thingvellir is where the N. American and European continents meet); next was the original "Geysir," and the nearby and more active smaller geysirs. We saw three go off in just twenty minutes so that was a treat. We then traveled to Gullfloss Waterfall which, to someone who loves water, was perhaps the highlight of the Golden Circle trip for me. The spray of the waterfall would rise hundreds of feet into the air and then turn into a dusting of snow by the time it landed around us. Truly just beautiful. After all the touring, we did the Snowmobiling, which was great. We had done snowmobiling a few days before on a different tour and the 'biles they used here were far better - bit heavier, more control in the handling and all that. It's about a half hour out and a half hour back ride and they give you everything you need to stay warm. The one thing the other place did a bit better is they have you goggles vs. visors and that led to the visors fogging up sometimes, which was a bit of a hazard to navigate. Again, we took a Gopro, so we got some beautiful otherworldly subset shots on the glacier as we were zooming along. This is a rather expensive excursion - think it might have been our most expensive. But unless you're doing the sleeping in a camper van thing and roughing it, Iceland is just an expensive vacation - particularly the food. Can you find cheaper trips? Yes. But the convenience and comfortability of this one made it worth it for us. We left from Reykjavik, they bring you back, you travel in a climate-adjusted bus with great wifi and charging, a great tour guide telling you interesting things, and, unlike most of our tours, there were frequent stops that allowed people to use the restroom, grab food, or gift-shop for about 20 minutes.

OUT OF THIS WORLD

An absolutely amazing day. The waterfall has to top five (possibly very top), the snowmobiling was out of this world and then we had the adorable tour guide Albert who kept us all interested with his font of local knowledge and anecdotes. One of the most amazing days of my life.

This was the highlight of our trip to Iceland - our two favorite parts were the geysirs and the snowmobiling. A must do!

The national park was worth the visit and the waterfall and geysir was spectacular and the snow mobiling definitely finished it off perfectly.

an unforgettable and unique experience !! Wear good gloves because on the snowmobile with the wind your fingers feel the cold heavy.

Amazing but would be better in a smaller group!

The trip was very good and very well organised. Our guide and driver were fantastic. The only downside is the size of the group. The tour was fully booked which means there were at least 50 of us and this made things like the snowmobile experience less cool. But it was pretty amazing anyway!!
