This tour far exceeded our expectations! We were picked up at our hotel and taken to the entrance to meet our guide. We were met with cold towels to cool off (it was awesome) and delicious fruit and water. We then met our tour guide Edgar. He brought his telescope and was so dedicated to taking the time to find every type of animal for us and made sure we got a picture of every single one. He told us how he had YEARS of experience giving tours of the park and the fact that he got excited whenever he saw a rare animal was truly a sight to see. You definitely don't see that often with tour guides so having him made this tour so enjoyable. Thank you Edgar!
Great Tour, Chaotic Entrance

So, the actual guide and the actual tour was great and although you don't need a guide to tour the park, the guides know how to spot the wildlife which can be difficult. My main disappointment was the lack of guidance on parking in spite of my reaching out on several occasions. The parking is chaotic at best and I was taken advantage of, although it's relative. I could have parked for $5 with a very short walk, or, $7 in the sort of "official" parking area. I paid $10 and specifically asked if their price was competitive. This was a "rogue" parking spot which was very close to the park entrance. Also, there are tourist vendors packed side by side all the way to the very entrance to the park and from the Manual Antonio village up to the park entrance, vendors were "hawking" tours, etc. Once there, I had to ask where to meet my tour. There was not an official "office," the guides were basically hanging out in front of a nearby store. Once all the maneuvering was over, my tour was late getting started by about a half hour or so, apparently they were waiting for late arrivals. Finally, the actual guide and the tour was great and I do recommend a tour. FYI, there are lots of vendors offering tours, and there are some for lower prices, although not significantly lower than the tour I booked, so really, you don't need to book in advance. Arturo

What at amazing tour! Edgar was the best guide -- very knowledgeable, great eye for spotting animals, and just a general fun time. We saw just about everything -- monkeys, lizards, snakes, and of course sloths! We even saw a baby sloth on it's mothers back. Got some great pictures thanks to Edgar. The beach inside the park was also

Manuel Antonio park is a treasure!! Our guide, Edgar , gave us a thorough tour, stopping to spot interesting fauna. He spotted lizards, iguanas, sloths, anteater, bats and dragonflies. It was amazing to see these animals in their natural habitat.
The real treats were the beaches inside the park. So pristine!! I’ll definitely visit again.

We perform checks on reviews
You can only submit a review or rating of an experience to Viator if you were the person who made the booking through Viator. Before publication, each review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information for each of the following criteria: who, what, how, and when. If the system detects something that contradicts our publication criteria, the review is not published. When the system detects a problem with a review, it may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site. In some cases, we will also send you an email asking you to validate your review before it is published. All you need to do is click on the link provided in the email. After publication, our team checks each review reported to it as not meeting our publication criteria. Tripadvisor reviews that appear on the Viator site are subject to the same checks and moderation processes as set out above. It is not necessary to have booked an experience through Viator (or Tripadvisor) to submit a review of an experience to the Tripadvisor site.

Sorting, ranking, and search results
Viator wants to make your searches as relevant as possible. That’s why we offer many ways to help you find the right experiences for you.
On some pages, you can select how to sort the results we display and also use filter options to see only those search results that meet your chosen preferences. You’ll see explanations of what those sort options mean when you select them.
You’ll see some experiences with a “Promoted” badge, which means that the operators of those experiences have agreed to pay Viator more to have their experience highlighted.
If you see an Experience Award Winner label, the award is based on average review ratings, share of bookings with a review, and number of bookings through Viator over a 12-month period.
The importance of any one factor over any other in a sort order varies, and the balance is constantly being reviewed and adjusted. We’re always updating our systems and testing new ways to refine and improve your results to make them as relevant as possible to meet your needs.
