Your trip through Willamette Valley wine country begins with afternoon pickup from your central Portland hotel. Grab a comfortable seat in the Sprinter Van and watch the cityscape give way to verdant hills, expansive farm land and stunning views of the Cascade Mountains. Spend the brief ride chatting with your guide about the region's history, once known for its fruit orchards and nurseries, and its current renown as a premier producer of fine wine.

Pass through the charming towns of Newberg, Forest Grove, Sherwood, and Gaston on your way to three acclaimed wineries. With more than 250 vineyards to choose from in the Willamette Valley, your in-the-know guide will design a custom itinerary for your small group. Possible stops include Erath Winery to sip an award-winning pinot noir or the Stoller Family Estate, where you can view breathtaking vineyards from their signature glass tasting room, a landmark in sustainable architecture.

At each winery, sip on hand-selected wines that will suit all tastes, from red varietals like syrah, tempranillo and cabernet sauvignon to prize chardonnay and pinot gris. By the end of the tour, you’ll better understand the unique relationship between the valley's volcanic soils, elevation and protective microclimates—ideal for producing cool-climate varietals like pinot noir—and the art of sustainable viticulture in Oregon.

Relax on the scenic ride back to your Portland hotel.

Willamette Valley
The Willamette Valley wine region, once known for its fruit orchards and nurseries, has become one of the United States' premier producers of cool-climate varietals like pinot noir. Great wine tour and excellent guide~

We had a blast! Our guide, Adam, was so passionate about Oregon and taught us so much not only about the Oregon wine country but about the history of the region itself. He was very accommodating and helpful. The tour itself was great, went to three different wineries. One upscale larger producer, only very small family run estate, one middle of the road winery but had a beautiful tasting room and we felt so at home. Highly recommend!

2/3 stops were great!

We did a wine tour just for fhn but none of us really drink wine like that. Adam was a great guide and was really knowledgeable about Portland and the overall state. We visited MONTINORE estate, blizzard, and Ardiri winery. MONTINORE was beautiful and had a great selection. The blizzard was by far everyone’s favorite and had this great 2017 reserve carmenere. Our guide Mary at blizzard was such a sweetheart and definitely made the trip. Ardiri wasn’t that great and didn’t have any researched seating for our group when we arrived the way the other two did. Overall was a great trip but could have passed on Ardiri.

Our tour guide was knowledgeable and very friendly. He was able to tell us so much about the wineries we visited, the history of the area, and the science and art behind the wine making process.

Fun Way to Sample OR Wines

This was a great way to sample Oregon wines -- Nikko was a great tour guide. Arrived promptly and returned us when promised. He was very familiar with the area and the wineries we visited. First winery seemed surprised by our arrival. Some crackers to palate cleanse would have been nice. Second winery wowed us with its presentation and food spread. Very knowledgeable staff, too. 3rd winery was too busy to spend much time with us, but it had plenty of nice seating and a great view. Super way to fit a lot in a little time.

Go on a Thursday

All Wine is good, but when you go on a vineyard tour you expect a little higher level experience. When I pay a certain amount of money I expect to be met with expert knowledge and advice - we only really got to experience that in one of the vineyards. we were advised that they only go to this vineyard on a Thursday, and we lucked out. Without that vineyard we would have been very disappointed as the first and last vineyard were delicious, but disappointing.
