Fabiaon was a great guide, appreciated his iPad with additional information and pictures greatly. With new information of the area and discoveries made it visit more exciting. The Cenote, breathtaking and took some fabulous photos. Luncheon at the Hacienda and experience in its self. So many delicious options for dining, exceptional and walking the Hacienda and grounds beautiful. We were tried and opted not to tour the city at the end of the day.

Superb Day

We had a great day. Carlos was a superb guide and host (and driver). He arrived just as we arrived in lobby of our hotel. Journey was as quick as possible and his tour around Chichen Itza was excellent. He encouraged us to ask questions and explained what we wanted to know. Lunch was excellent quality food. Cenote a new experience and Carlos had life vests ready for us. It was something we thought we would never do. Vallodoid was interesting stop. Overall a superb day and well worth the cost.

Amazing day, pleasant trip, great guide

Jonathan (Johnny) was our guide for the day. He picked us up promptly at the hotel in a clean, newer van. He greeted us, introduced himself and gave us a run down of the tour. He was very pleasant and tried his best to keep us comfortable. He even stopped half way for a restroom break without us telling him. My husband suffers motion sickness and Johnny allowed him to sit on the front. However, it was unnecessary because the toll highway is in excellent condition, is mostly straight, and Johnny drove us safely. Another advantage was getting there earlier than bigger groups. Once we arrived to Chichen Itza, we entered really quickly via Mayaland. Johnny showed us several interesting spots, took photos for us, answered all of our questions and gave us time to look around. Also, he kept looking for shade for us or a place to sit while he explained what we were looking at. He recommended us some vendors and helped us negotiate the price and tell us if that was a fair price or not. In the van, he carried a little cooler with water which it was great. The only thing I would skip would be the sacred cenote in Chichen Itza. Unfortunately, it is very polluted, looking dark gray at the moment and you will see a much nicer one later one. Also, there are a lot of mosquitos in that area. For lunch, we had a buffet in Mayaland. It was pretty clean and quick service with the drinks. The ladies were making hand made tortillas, there were several pork dishes, pizza, fish, salad and traditional desserts. They also had some dancers as well. After lunch, Johnny took us to el Cenote San Lorenzo Oxman. It seems that the cenote is getting more popular, but people come and go so we were not crowded swimming. They have lockers, restrooms, a small pool, showers before getting in and life vests. The most fun part was jumping from the cliff or using the swing rope to get into the water. The last stop was quick in Valladolid, we preferred to stay longer in Chichen Itza and swim a bit more at the Cenote, so we stopped 30 min to walk around the square, see the church quickly and then head back. You really don't need a lot of time there and if needed can skip. It is just a typical colonial city.

Great Day Out: Chicken Itza and a Cenote

Claudia was a great guide and looked after us really well. Learned more than we expected and had a great time. We were given a history of Mexico and the Mayans, deep in sight into Chichen Itza and had a fantastic swim at Cenote Oxman. Claudia helped at all times - giving us water, taking photos, answering questions, and making sure we enjoyed ourselves. Would definitely recommend this tour for anyone looking for a good day out
