This is a simple but effective tour...

This is a simple but effective tour. The guide is very personable and flexible. He allowed us to determine the amount of time we spent at each stop. We enjoyed seeing the famous beaches and hotel zone. We were surprised to see the El Rey ruins, and the guide was knowledgable in sharing history of that site. We thoroughly enjoyed the cultural museum. It was small but attractive and between the placards and the guide's narration, we learned more about the Maya Culture. Lunch was a simple sandwich but very adequate. We were given choices of shopping opportunities. We appreciated being given a time frame and then allowed to set the amount of time at each stop. Since our prior exposure to Cancun was simply the airport, we were glad to see and appreciate some of what Cancun offers beyond hotels and night spots.

Wonderful tour! El Rey ruins were...

Wonderful tour! El Rey ruins were only a 20 minute drive from our resort, which saved us from spending hours of travel time. So well preserved and so many of the buildings are still there to be seen The fairly new Museo Maya is still a work in progress. It contains so many beautiful artifacts Most important is the fact that it was constructed on an actual archaeological site, so that after touring the museum you are able to walk outside on the grounds of the site, along a path leading through the village to the pyramid. The tour guide was very knowledgeable and enjoyable to speak with. Our only disappointment was in the fact that we paid a lot of money, over a hundred dollars for the two of us, for this tour, which only lasted a few short hours, and the advertised included lunch consisted of a deli sandwich and a bottled drink served to us in the van. We felt that a lite lunch in a Mexican restaurant would have been more appropriate. I would definitely recommend a trip to these ruins and the museum if you're visiting the Riviera Maya area of Cancun. n a oathg lkeadingbto
