Visit the home of George Washington and John Adams back when Philadelphia served as the nation's capital. See the Curtis Center, one of Philadelphia's historical spaces for its famous Tiffany mosaic.

Learn more about William Penn, the founder of Pennsylvania, at Washington Square. Visit the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, a monument dedicated to American service members who have died without their remains being identified. Dick as our tour guide in Philadelphia made our visit memorable. His knowledge of the old city was fully appreciated. And a fellow that we loved to be with.

Our guide, Dick, was a walking encyclopedia of Philadelphia. He helped my teenagers put current events in the context of colonial and revolutionary history, and he gave us tips for what else to do while in town. We walked by families that were reading plaques and guessing at what they were seeing while we had those things explained and were provided even more depth into where we were.

Don’t waste your money

Waste of $140! You can walk past each of the sites and google the history just like our tour guide told us to do. The cost does not include entry into any of the historic sites. You just walk past them. Based on what was outlined we were all convinced we didn’t even do all the places noted. Two people left right in the middle of the tour. The tour guide asked WAY too many personal questions. What do we do, where do we work, what hotel were we staying at, he confirmed all our contact information verbally out loud for everyone to have access to. The only thing he didn’t ask was our social security numbers. He then used my phone number to send me a text message at midnight asking me to leave him a positive review which woke us up. Go through the visitor center and get your tours from the national park service. They include entry to the sites.

The tour guide was very informative and articulate. Had a lot of great facts that I wouldn't have learned otherwise. Also, he made it a point to learn about all of the people on the tour on a personal level. A very wonderful experience and I would highly recommend it to all of my out of town friends.

My husband and I and our friends thoroughly enjoyed our tour with Nina! She is a native of Philadelphia and very enthusastic. Nina LOVES to show people "her town"! Great walking tour and very informative. I loved that she took us into the Curtis Center to see the fabulous Tiffany "Dream Garden"!! Yes....maybe not part of "Founding Fathers" but such a treat. I would have never known it existed. I love it when tour directors go a little off script! Thanks, Nina!
