History tour

Lots of good history. We weren’t able to go inside some of the places that we thought were included in the tour, but we still got a lot of good information.

Not what was told the tour would be

This was terrible & extremely disappointing. This is Viator’s fault not the guide’s. When I called for tickets I was told we would get into see the liberty bell & Franklin Institute. The ticket also says we would visit the liberty bell, & Franklin. We could not do that. Our money should be refunded for not getting what we paid for especially since I talked to a Viator person & specifically asked her to find out for sure. This is not the service I expect from this company. A VERY DISAPPOINTING tour.

Guide nit very knowledgeable

I have don’t so many historical walking tours all over Europe and the US and I’m sad to say this was by far the most disappointing. There was no really interesting information provided and when asking questions the guide would say I have no idea. The guide asked for tips and good ratings throughout the tour. In fact it was one of the first things he said to the group when he arrived 15 minutes late for the tour. He was a nice person but just a terrible guide. Cheesesteak at the end was amazing though. Guide did not oversee the ordering and disappeared before we got our food. Even though the tour included the cheesesteaks I guess he did not communicate this to the restaurant. The owner ended up comping our sandwiches. Would recommend this tour with a knowledgeable guide.

Fun Tour!

I recently took the 1776 History and Cheesesteak Tour, and really enjoyed it. Terry was a great guide, who regaled me with many interesting stories that somehow never made it into the history books. Even though I was the only participant (and it rained throughout the majority of the tour), I had fun, learned some interesting facts I hadn't previously known (and I'm a former history teacher!), and really enjoyed my delicious cheesesteak at the culmination of the tour. If you're looking to hear off-beat, behind-the scenes stories about our Nation's founding - and indulge in one of Philly's iconic foods - then take this tour!
