Awful and Dishonest

Awful. 1) 25 people with an inexperienced guide Emilie (w/hat). When I booked this tour, it was advertised as up to 8 per group. 2) tour finished early at 11:30 instead of 12:00; 3) Guide did not give ticket so we could not leave for lunch and reenter!Dishonest company. Don’t recommend this tour.

Very knowledgeable guide. Funny and easy to follow. Recommend this tour for people looking for a guide who cares about the museum.

Unfortunately, the instructions were not forthcoming as to the meeting place and there were no signs for Viator. We went back and forth and by the time we figured it out they had already left for the tour. Hence we missed it. Not an experience I would recommend.

Tour guide did not have the tickets when we tried to enter. This delayed the trip for 1 hour. Check in process was poorly handled (slow, confusing). The tour guide did not speak English and needed a translator.

It was the worst experience in our travel to Paris! Too much money and when we arrived, we could not find the guide. Then after contact them for coming in the next day they asked us to re-pay again! In simple words: rudeness and cheating. Never use this “service”.

Ann Marie our tour guide was so fantastic! They were well versed in art history and composition which enriched the museum experience.

Good tour. Poor experience with the guide. Guide was inattentive and erratic in behavior.

The guide did not look after the members of the group. It was a rainy day. We were not directed to the cloakroom or the lockers to leave our umbrellas. Instead we were scolded that we brought umbrellas. We had to go in a hurry, lost the group and ended missing 2/3 of the tour risking to pay 300 euros for the audio equipment on the top of everything! We had to figure out how to return the equipment ourselves. Of note is that quite a few members of the group left the tour at Mona Lisa.

Enjoyable Tour

Our guide Rueben was professional, knowledgeable and personable. He made the tour an easy and enjoyable experience. Given the incredible size of this museum and the countless works of art we could experience, I felt Rueben did a great job of choosing pieces that brought the tour to life. When you add his obvious, genuine passion for the pieces, the experience was amazing.

Poor communication and guest relations

Please note that we were at the location in advance of the tour. There were multiple tours meeting groups. We booked with Viator. NOWHERE did the instructions that we reviewed say to look for a red sign with an entirely different company. We reached out via phone and live chat. It wasn’t until we reached the second operator via phone who said to look for a red sign that said City Tours which at that point the tour had just departed. In fact, there was another couple there that were in the exact same predicament. Additionally, while the ladies on the guest services phone were lovely, I received no response on love chat. The email responses were straight rude and dismissive. This was supposed to be an amazing day w my 17 year old daughter. Finally, I am certain that the reviews posted on this site are filtered and this will not see the light of day. Until I get a proper resolution I will continue to share our experience on all of the public review sites.

Great walking tour with lots of interesting information about the artwork and the Louvre, which is itself a piece of art! Moved at a good pace even with the inevitable crowds. Great to be able to walk right in.

This tour was pretty stock standard - nothing was amazing Tour guide was French so you really had to listen to what he was saying with thick accent. He was a nice guy though. His knowledge was sound.

Skip the line was perfect. Guide left something to be desired :(

I can only speak to this experience from the guide we were assigned to. Her overall demeanor was not pleasant. It was as if the tour was a burden and she was doing a favor by guiding us. She was very repetitive about keeping up with the group and not leaving without turning in the radio (they are expensive and she would have to pay the fee if not turned in). This is understandable but she mentioned it no less than 30-40 times within a two hour tour. When we arrived at the Mona Lisa she said the line was too long (about 30 minutes) and she was not going to wait but would leave us there if we chose to wait. We decided to turn in the radio and wait in line to view it. We waited less than 10 minutes. Overall we were happy to skip the line so perhaps the price is just worth that alone. We had a little over 20 people in our group so I wonder if the groups were smaller the guides would be less anxious about losing people in such a crowded museum. This review is only for the guide we were assigned to and unfortunately we can’t recall her name.
