Get an early start and make your way to the Gare du Nord train station in Paris, where a host will be waiting with your round-trip Eurostar tickets. Settle into your reserved seat on a London-bound train and enjoy the scenic, 2.5-hour ride through the French countryside and under the English Channel.

Keep your camera at the ready as you pass iconic sights like Westminster Abbey, the Tower of London, the Houses of Parliament, Big Ben and Buckingham Palace. Listen to an onboard English-speaking guide (or a multilingual audio guide) to learn about the history and legends of passing attractions.

Next, you can opt to join one of two themed walking tours included with your ticket. Get a case of Beatlemania while walking in the footsteps of the Fab Four, or immerse yourself in royal history on the blue-blooded Diamond Jubilee tour. Alternatively, enjoy leisure time to explore London on your own.

In the afternoon, glide down the River Thames on a leisurely cruise while learning about the modern and medieval sights that line its banks. Enjoy free time in the evening to continue sightseeing, shop, dine or visit a traditional English pub (own expense).

Head back to St Pancras station to catch the 8:01 pm return train, arriving at least 45 minutes before it departs. Relax on the journey back to Paris, where you’ll arrive at Gare du Nord station in the late evening.

Do a guided tour instead.

Map was confusing. Bus stops for the company we never saw a bus go by. A bus driver for our group picked us up when we were trying to get to the train station and who said he’d take us to the station dropped us off farther away from station than where he picked us up. We almost missed our train. Couldn’t get a taxi where we were because they couldn’t stop. It was scary. Would not recommend the self guided tour.

What was I thinking? London in a day. Just to do the London Tower tour was about 2.5 hours Westminster Abbey another 2 hours and maybe longer if you did the audio tour. Then traffic in London. I still got fish n chips so all in all it was a good day

Too much traffic all around the city. The recording went in and out too much and no one showed us where to take the river cruise. We waljed ariung had to ask questions and were lost for a while, we missed the boat had to wait for an hour and could not partake in a stop at Buckingham palace.

Hop on, Hop Off - I wasn't aware of this package deal. I didn't like that the wait for the bus to come back around took 45 mins or more. The wait time for the bus took up the majority of the sightseeing time. The audio was off and I didn't know what I was looking at. The bus drivers kept pulling over for long breaks - stalling the tour.

It was my first time in London and this one day trip from Paris was a great introduction. If I were to do it again I would have had a more detailed map of London streets with me as I spent a lot of the time trying to find where the bus we had tickets for was as often it was blocks away from locations.

We went on this trip on March, it was very cold but really pretty, it is a good way to take a glimpse of London in 1 day. The traffic is crazy in London so I would recommend really choose your stops as you won't be able to see it all. The service of the company was great everybody helped us get the most of the experience.

DO NOT BUY! I WOULD GIVE 0 IF I COULD. GoldenTours Told we wouldnt do walks, that was a lie. Its like riding a city bus, no time for pics. NOT 1 GUIDE was helpful, 8 different "guides" directed us on wrong buses, we spend the whole day listening to people from GoldenTours that didnt know anything!

When we arrived at the train station...

When we arrived at the train station in France, we were met by our contact. He was very nice but he spoke no English. We managed to get the necessary details, though. The train ride was very nice and comfortable. When we arrived in London, we were met by another contact. This gentleman was not very helpful. He was much more interested in selling us other tours while in London than he was in helping us plan our day. He showed us to the bus and he disappeared shortly thereafter never asking if we needed more help/information. We only stayed on the bus for a short time. There was so much traffic and deadlock due to various construction projects that we just sat there! My Wife and I got off the bus and never got back on. We walked just about everywhere. People on the streets were extremely nice and polite and pointed us in the right directions for various places we wanted to see. We took the Thames river cruise over to Big Ben, etc. and walked the rest of the way. We walked to Buckingham Palace, Hyde Park, and everywhere in-between. Then we took the subway back to the train station and headed back to Paris. We walked a lot but we saw so much! We even had time to sit down at a pub and eat Fish and Chips. We had a great time!

The train ride was nice. Grab some snacks before you get on the train. One you get to London the traffic is terrible don't expect to see everything. You can't get around that fast. Plan what you want to see ahead of time. 3 or 4 major things is all you will get to see. You will not be able to take the bus around the second time.
