Incredible introduction to the museum

Jessica taught us so much about the events that sparked and shaped the Impressionist period and inspired the work of the artists.  Surprisingly, there is a bit of scandal associated with the impressionist painters, which I was not aware of! The added drama helped these works (and the people who painted them!) come alive.  This tour is a great introduction to art for non-artists, but it is also a great tour for people who love the Impressionists.  Personally, I don't think a trip to Paris is complete without stopping by to visit Degas's perfect ballerinas, and Jessica was able to provide a lot more the world behind the painting (and sculpting) of those ballerinas.

Excellent tour. Good explanation of impressionism. Beautiful art in a beautiful building. Not too crowded like the Louvre.

Fun for the whole family at the Musee d'Orsay!

When I booked this tour, I knew little about the Musee d'Orsay, just that so many people I knew who had visited Paris said it was a must-see. Thanks to this tour and our amazing guide Tristan, my family (two adults, plus 12- and 10-year-old sons) and I feel like we understood not just the "what" of the museum and its works, but the "why" as well. Tristan, who had a fabulous sense of humor as well as deep knowledge about art history, was so good at explaining the big picture history of the art movements represented in the works that we saw; for the first time, I feel like I really get how the various movements flowed and influenced each other. It was very clear that Tristan loves his work. He also deftly handled some of the more scandalous art in a way that was appropriate for our kids, which we deeply appreciated. For that reason I'd highly recommend this tour for families wanting to visit the Musee d'Orsay.

I’ve been to the D’Orsay a number of times and the crowds get bigger and bigger. In spite of that our guide Wendy did a terrific job moving us place to place imparting interesting information and giving us a great tour.

The guide did speak of the history of the museum but spoke more about texture than the meaning of the pieces she showed us. Abit disappointing. The skip the line feature tho is wonderful!

The guide had a Master Degree related to art and he was amazing. We learned so much and he was clear and interesting. He was great at fitting as much information in as possible and framed everything in a historical context. Excellent tour.
