Late and Unwelcomed

We arrived for our tour on time to be be told that the bus is running a little late. After about 1/2 hour we err given options to be refunded , reschedule or wait and receive $10 for our time . We waited for what was supposed to be 10am . It was still 1/2 late even after waiting So our time on the plantation was cut into. We weren’t upset but our tour guide was not welcoming to us as we were getting on the bus ( in a regular single file line ) nobody was stopped but myself and my 2 other friends . We were told we were the next bus before even being asked for our tickets to confirm . We explained that we were not and have waited now over 1 hour and 30 minutes . She asked if we had a ticket so we showed her snd then she said because we don’t have a “sticker “ we needed to wait and let other people behind us get on . She mumbled something about the amount of people on the bus already implying there wasn’t room for us . We told her if we need a sticker then she should simply give us one and not allow others to go before us . Turns out the sticker was meaningless and wasn’t a requirement for anything but we end up having to sit in back of his with no air conditioning only the front had air . Once we got to the swamp the boat was overcrowded so my friends and I were the only problem who had to sit in the middle to observe . It wasn’t the worse of things because we didn’t dwell on it just wanted to have a good time but left a bad taste in our mouth . Not sure if this was discriminatory as our tour guide was black and we were the only other blacks on the bus . Either way it didn’t feel good.

Viator forgot to inform the tour company of the tickets it sold. So 20 of us showed up and the tour had been canceled. No one knew, no ability to rebook!

Our tour guide Jim was extremely knowledgeable, very polite, professional and friendly, our day trip was both educating and fun. Thank you also to our driver Donald who drove us there and back safely on the very clean and very comfortable luxury tour bus. We enjoyed it that much we booked the voodoo cemetery trip for the next day.

Great afternoon

Absolutely amazing tour. George was a great driver; Jim an excellent guide and kept us interested throughout the journey. Whilst the plantation wasn’t the biggest house, its history was fascinating and very well put across by the guide (despite the large group size). The highlight was the swamp - Captain Bishop was a real character and we were able to see a lot of wildlife.

Bus tour aspect left a lot to be desired
VMM
, Mar 2020
The plantation and swamp boat tours were both great, as were the guides. The Grayline tour aspect left a lot to be desired. The tour guide had a few microphone problems and quickly gave up on using the microphone, choosing to give her tour only to the few people in the front of the bus. We thought she would then come back and give the same speech to those of us in the back, but she did not and never even mentioned or apologized for the microphone issues. I booked this tour hoping to get my children an overview of the area and a good history lesson, but they definitely missed out on that on the bus. Our Cajun Pride tour guide, Bishop, was great, as were the plantation guides.
