Our family - Grandma and down to a four-year-old - enjoyed this tour! We had reservations so walked up and our carriage was waiting for us. Our tour guide, Mike was great! He was welcoming, kind, and shared so much historical information with us. The cemetery was very interesting and just riding through the French Quarter was fun. Highly recommend!

Charlie and Pretty Boy(mule) were absolutely wonderful! Charlie was very passionate and knowledgeable about a city that he clearly loves. The cemetery tour was definitely the highlight of the tour, but not taking away from the rest of this enjoyable tour. If you want a good overview of the city’s history and morbid past. I highly recommend this tour, especially, Charlie and Pretty Boy to everyone.

Ask for Lucy at the Royal Carriage Tour!

We had a great tour guide! Her name was Lucy and she really made our tour enjoyable. When we got to the cemetery we were only there for 5 minutes before they came through and told us we would all need to leave as there was going to be a funeral there. Although the funeral wasn’t suppose to start for an hour, they showed up early and wanted everyone to leave. Lucy didn’t skip a beat took us to one of the most important tombs to see and then we jumped back on to the carriage and she took us across the street where we could see the tombs and she gave us the rest of the history on the cemetery. Since that part of our tour was cut short she took us to some other areas not originally on the tour and was able to give us great information on those areas as well. Lucy is a wealth of knowledge. We even asked her where we should eat lunch, we told her we wanted a place where locals went, not so much of a tourist place. She sent us to Coops, we weren’t disappointed. Small place great atmosphere. Thanks Lucy!

This was such a great tour! Charlie, our wonderful tour guide, was wonderful (professional, helpful, patient, and truly knowledgeable about the city and cemetery's history) and Pretty Boy was not only a sweet (and handsome) mule, but he was a wonderful companion as he took us around the French Quarter, then waited patiently while we explored the historic cemetery. This is at the very top of my list of things to do when I go back to New Orleans - and I can't wait.

The main reason we booked this tour was to get entry into the Saint Louis Cemetery. You cannot gain entry without being part of a tour group. When we check in, we were put on a carriage for four instead of the large carriage for a group. We were told there was a mix-up. The ride was fine and the history lesson was good. When we got to the cemetery it was very busy. After a few minutes another carriage left, and our driver pulled in. We were ready to leave the carriage, and get into the long entry line when the driver put his cell phone to his ear. He proceeded to have an argument with a supervisor or maybe with himself. He stated that he was told to get out of line because other carriages from the tour company needed the spot, and we returned to Jackson Square without getting to see the cemetery. I didn't get the service for which I paid $170.00 for. Until now I had been pleased with Viator on tours in France, Ireland and Italy.
