French Quarter & Marigny Neighborhood Carriage Ride

My 11 year old and I got turned around trying to walk from Royal to the carriage ride. We were running late and the carriage company called to confirm our reservation. I told him what was going on and he said to come on. We got off on the wrong direction and when I gave up, he called again. I told him to forget it and he said we've got carriages, when do you want me to reschedule you? So he booked us for that following hour, we got our car and headed over. Hearing all the history was the best part for me and my daughter had never ridden in a carriage. If you love New Orleans, you'll love this ride. We will do it again.

The tour guide was amazing as well as the tour. It was very enjoyable and our guide kept us entertained while informing us about the architecture and facts about the city.

James was a fantastic narrator of the history of NOLA and very funny! Pearl was a very skillful guide also!

When arrived I tried to check in 10 mins prior to the departure time and No One wanted to check my husband's and I in. They talked among themselves but no one would let me know if we were checked in or not. Finally, a young man asked 2 tour guides if they wanted to take us on the their carriage and they flat out refused. They young man said he had just gotten back from a tour. It was a VERY uncomfortable situation and I even would say racist moment. The young man finally gave in and took us on the tour a little after 5pm when it was supposed to start and we returned back 20 mins til 6pm but we paid for an hour. We are highly disappointed and feel obligated to share this experience with friends and family. Especially with my network, one huge one being my sorority sisters who were in town 2 weeks ago for a conference, a group of 16,000+. I don't know what that was about but it made us feel EXTREMELY uncomfortable.
