Departure Point

The Mansion at Fontanel is located 15 minutes North of downtown Nashville.
Make your way to Fontanel Mansion, set on 186 acres (75 ha.) in the rolling hills north of Nashville. Present this voucher for admission on a tour, then join a guide for a country themed walk through Barbara Mandrell’s former home: see some of her 20 rooms, 13 bathrooms, 5 fireplaces, 2 kitchens, indoor pool, and indoor shooting range.

In addition to Mandrell family keepsakes, the current owners’ collection of country memorabilia is on display: browse one of a kind mementoes from music stars like Alabama, Kenny Chesney, Big & Rich, and Gretchen Wilson. Tour guides are knowledgeable country fans—some are even accomplished country artists themselves—and offer fun insights into Barbara Mandrell’s time in Nashville.

Throughout the house, you’ll find a unique style that blends country rustic with gilded, over-the-top luxury. After the tour, you’ll have plenty of time to explore the property, which is home to a winery, gift shop, restaurant, inn, and several miles of walking trails.

The tour at the Fontanel Mansion...

The tour at the Fontanel Mansion Tour was outstanding! We had Steve as our guide who made us feel so welcomed and remembers everyone's name. While in the living room, he invited us all to sit around or mosey around to look at all the decor, if you wish while he played the guitar and sang about two songs that were just awesome! He is truly talented. It was like visiting good friends! The spirit there was truly Nashville, very comfortable and enjoyable. By the time the tour ended and he walked us to the bus, we felt like family. He told us that he decorates the home for Christmas and we plan to be back in Nashville at Christmas. We definitely will come again to see the beautiful decorations at Fontanel and enjoy the holiday season. My husband and I participate in a lot of tours, but this was so nice we will cherish the memory always. Our very best wishes to Steve and his bride.

This was a wonderful tour seeing the former home of Barbara Mandrell. It was a huge, unique home built with unusual logs. Enjoyed learning the history of the home and how it is used today.

This was an interesting tour. I enjoyed touring different homes and this one was a log home with it's own elegance. The tour was fun because we also learned some history about the Mandrell family. Our tour guide, Steven was very knowledgeable and a talent in his own right. He sang us a beautiful song during the tour. I would recommend this tour to anyone who is interested in touring different types of homes or has a love for country music and history.

Enjoyed hearing about how this home was constructed. Found that being able to look some on your own and to touch items or sit on furnishings delightful. Tour just the right length.

The Fontanel is not a museum. It's a privately owned house. As such, they can make their own rules and you can do things you would never be allowed to do in a museum. That's really fun. The house is amazing and I was glad we added it to our itinerary.
