Salzburg and Lake District Day Tour from Munich

Traffic was horrible. We had 3 hours in Salzburg. No stop in Lake Country. Tour guide, Barbara was disorganized.

I see that this tour now states that Lake District is just in summer!!! Well when we as well as the other 20 people booked this tour it did not state that. We were informed when we showed up that there would be no lake tour. We had a 2 hour bus ride to Salzburg and then the guide walked us to Old Town Salzburg and toured us around very quickly pointing out points of interest. The guide then left us and said see you back at the meeting spot in 4 hours. We were told that the bus would not wait for anyone late and there was a train you could catch if you missed the bus.. We were told that only local guides can lead people around the area so this was her reason for not guiding us. We saw many large groups of foreign travellers from river cruises being toured around with head sets and full information being provided. One woman on our tour was so afraid of being left behind she kept going back to the bus pickup area. We might as well just caught the train ourselves and saved a substantial amount of money for all the touring that was provided. I have use Viator many times and have always had great tours but this has been the worst tour and a complete waste of time and money. Pretty much everyone on the tour felt the same way.

We did not get the Lake Tour because it was not the summer-this should have been told to us when we booked, not when we showed up for the tour. The guide showed us around Salzburg very quickly pointing out main attractions and then left us on our own for the next 4 hours to just wander around and try and remember what everything was. One woman kept going back go where the bus was going to pick up us because she was worried about being left behind!!!

It was a real experience with the tour guide having a lot of information to share. The trip to Wolfgang lake was just amazing.

Excellent tour guide, she stuck to the schedule, was cheerful, and kept us well informed. My only complaint is there was such a short time in Salzburg and I wish we could have spent more time exploring its charms. However, the lake tour/boat ride was the best part -- absolutely beautiful, scenic, and totally worth the additional cost.

This was a great day trip. Our tour guide was well informed and entertaining. She was clear with expectations as far as group meeting times etc and all ran smoothly. The boat ride was the best part! St. Gilgen so quaint and beautiful. Completely worth the money to find yourself in such a pocket of our world!

Just not enough time to enjoy either Salzburg or the lake area. Too much time spent on the coach travelling. Wish we'd done one or the other

I had sent my sister on this trip and the guide was careful to leave her alone. She reached the place one minute later ( planned meeting was 15.45) and they had left for the boat trip. They even took money for boat and left her alone. She has to travel back alone from a remote place back to Munich. The tour guide even didn’t respond to my call. The bus service hotline said: they cann’t do anything and no idea how she is going to come back. I am extremely disappointed with the service.

Well worth doing , great guide , amazing sightseeing. Easy bus ride to Salzburg , boat cruise extra cost.

If you are Not using your car on a Europe Tour then This tour is highly recommended.... The Operator Grey Line are very efficient & reliable, the Tour Bus is very comfortable And the icing on these quality cakes is our Tour Guide Ms Lucy... She was very warm, energetic, professional, well informed, Well Spoken & a lovely human being. She is very beautiful... Thank You
