Very interesting but sad tour. The meeting place was a popular visitor area and easy to find. The guide was very knowledgeable and answered questions confidently. The trip consisted of a train and bus ride which was all arranged by guide, overall excellent experience

Alex was fantastic from start to finish, train issues at the very start of the tour but Alex kept us informed of what was happening and about the delays etc, the whole tour was fantastic, Alex was informative and extremely knowledgable, he was able to answer all questions we had, very friendly and very easy to understand, I would recommend this tour and this company to anyone, although quite a hard/difficult topic it’s a must see if your in Munich.

While getting to Dachau and visiting the site is something you could do on your own, having a knowledgeable and caring tour guide makes the experience more meaningful. Our guide, Conny, has done a lot of research and shared a lot of insights. We appreciated her guidance as we learned about a horrific part of history.

Group too Large

We had previously asked for a private tour - as there was 12 of us travelling - but Viator would not arrange. On arrival, the group was over 40 people - which was just too big for us all to be able to hear the guide at all times - she could not raise her voice any more in respect. The guide herself was excellent, and very knowledgeable. She did a fantastic job in keeping us all together on the train, and then the bus - but it was not fair for Viator to give her such a huge group on her own.

Informative and chilling tour. It's hard to wrap one's mind around the atrocities performed there, and it's must-do destination for any visitor to Munich. We had a really good guide. As for our particular tour, there was too much reliance on public transportation. Walk to subway from meeting spot, then subway to a train, then train to a bus, then one-mile fast-paced walk to entrance. On the return, we found ourselves literally jogging to catch a public bus -- not something a 65-year-old tourist was really eager to do after long walk through Dachau. More seasoned travelers might opt to pay more money for a more private tour that includes direct transportation.

Our guide, Eric, conducted this tour with great respect and sensitivity. It is difficult to hear the torture and horror, but it is a vital lesson we should never forget. And, it was an opportunity for us to pay our respects to all who suffered and died here. Well worth your time and effort. You will be better for experiencing it.
