Make your own way to the USS Alabama Battleship Memorial Park at the time that is convenient for you.

Your self-guided tour can begin anywhere you like in the 100-acre park. Take a look around the USS Alabama and get a feel for life on a battleship during World War II. As you walk around the ship, you can peak into the kitchen, doctor's quarters, radio room, and more. The ship served as a set for the 2016 movie USS Indianapolis: Men of Courage, which starred actor Nicolas Cage.

Next, check out the USS Drum, the oldest American submarine on display to the public. The submarine was deployed in the Pacific theater, sinking several Japanese warships and providing reconnaissance at Iwo Jima and Okinawa. Continue to the Aircraft Pavilion to view the 28 historic airplanes and military vehicles on display.

Other wars receive recognition at the military park. To honor the 100th anniversary of WWI, the Great War exhibit opened in March 2016, and memorials throughout the park include the Korean Memorial, the Vietnam Memorial, the Fallen Hero’s 9/11 Memorial, and a monument for Military Service dogs.

Check the calendar for special events such as historical reenactments performed by the Living History team every other month.

A lot to explore! We all had a great time! The worst part was the heat! The crowd would be the second worst. Reasonable pricing!

It is so cool to see an amazing part of history. My husband was in the navy, so he was able to share information with my boys about the ship.

Enjoyed all the up close reality of the equipment on display here. Very clean and well organized facility Thanks to all the men and women ( combat/non combat ) that were and still involved with our armed forces

Being able to go through the ship and sub at our own pace. The path layout was organized and helped you maneuver the areas without missing parts, which would be easy to do with all the compartments.

My 15 yr old son loves anything to do with the military, and thoroughly enjoyed the tour of the battleship, all the aircraft and tanks. The ONLY issue we had was that horrendous entrance and exit out of the park. You REALLY need a light there.
Awesome experience

Getting to explore the USS Alabama. I wish I could have seen her in her hay day. I love the era from which she came from.

Love a piece of History. A must visit for all ages. My wife and oldest granddaughter had a great time

The ship was opened up much more than when I last visited many years ago. Staff were very friendly and helpful.
Awesome and amazing to behold and appreciate the crews activities
, Jul 2021
The ship was awesome to see and to appreciate how the crew lived and what they had to do to efficiently operate the ship. It is amazing how every activity aboard the ship had to come together like clockwork to make things work like they were supposed to. And to be able to fire the main guns 1 round every 30 seconds had to be a sight to behold. My only constructive feedback would be to cool the theater a bit more to better enjoy the entire movie and to reduce the fuel smell in the engine room.
