After early pickup at your Milan hotel, board your comfortable, air-conditioned coach and journey westward to the Cinque Terre.
On route, hear about the five towns of Riomaggiore, Manarola, Corniglia, Vernazza and Monterosso. Learn how they make up the ‘five lands’ of the Cinque Terre, and punctuate the 6-mile (10-kilometer) stretch of this UNESCO-listed section of coast.
On arrival in the region, enjoy a scenic drive along the winding coastal roads, enjoying glimpses of the Mediterranean on one side and steeply terraced vineyards on the other, and passing the pastel-hued towns tacked into the cliffs.
After your drive, stop in Manarola, the second smallest of the five Cinque Terre villages. Admire the painted houses clinging to the rocks, and hop out to explore independently. Perhaps hike into the vineyards or stroll around the harborfront, seeing the fishing boats and swimmers jump into the sea from the waterfront.
Next, catch the train along the coast to Monterosso al Mare, the biggest of the five towns. Enjoy stunning views of the cliffs and sea on route, and on arrival, get time to relax and sightsee at leisure.
Perhaps lounge on Monterosso’s sandy beach or nearby coves, or have lunch at any of the restaurants lining the town’s piazze (squares).
Then, enjoy a 90-minute boat trip along the coast to admire the Cinque Terre from the water. Cruise south along the cliffs, drinking in the views of the five villages suspended between the sea and vine-clad hills.
After passing the lovely village of Portovenere at the Cinque Terre’s southernmost tip, disembark at La Spezia and rejoin your coach. Your tour then finishes with a drop-off in central Milan.

Itinerary
Leaving Milan, you arrive directly at the Cinque Terre and via a scenic route on the coast you reach Manarola. Here you'll have free time to venture around the vineyards, stroll the piers where fishing boats line the shore or watch the locals and the tourists jumping into the sea from the rocks of the harbour!
Duration: 1 hour
Admission Ticket Free
Right before lunch time you catch the train to Monterosso al Mare, the biggest of the five villages, where you will have time to explore and visit the beaches dotted along the coast. Despite the number of tourists, there is still a real sense of local identity even in the most tourist-crammed little ‘piazze'. Restaurants, bars and accommodation all have an endearingly homespun air about them as though when the locals saw tourists coming, they found a few garden chairs to stick on their terrace, hand painted a sign and began serving customers.
Duration: 2 hours
Admission Ticket Free
From Monterosso you will start the final leg of your journey, probably the most inspiring, a 90 minutes boat cruise. The perfect way to admire the stunning views of the Cinque Terre and the delightful village of Portovenere from the sea. After this memorable experience, you will arrive at La Spezia where your coach will be waiting to take you back to Milan.

- "This seem to take a very long time and as with large tour buses there are always lots and lots of delays getting people on and off." See review
- "Have to go again to see the other 3 villages buildings !" See review
