Loved loved loved this tour. Our guide Pablo, was full of knowledge about the Mayan civilization. He was passionate about the history and the way he told the stories made it so much fun. I would recommend this tour to EVERYONE!!

Skip it. Book Uxmal Instead

Very disappointed. I booked this tour because it stated 4 hours at Chichen Itza but we only had 2 which was definitely not enough time. The guide rushed us from spot to spot and only gave us 5 minutes to shop at one stand when there where numerous options. Lunch was okay but felt like we wasted time sitting around after everyone had finished. When we got to the cenote we only had 30 minutes instead of the stated one hour as well. Would not recommend if you actually want to explore the area and experience it.

Israel was an excellent guide and host. My mother was having a little trouble with the heat and walking around, but Israel was very kind and patient with her. It was an experience of a lifetime for her. The lunch was excellent, and I had time to make fiends with the rest of our small group. The cenote at the end was also an incredible experience. Highly recommended.

This was a fantastic way to see Chichen Itza from Merida. They pick you up and bring you back to your hotel. Nice buffet at a quaint hotel on site. Guide was knowledgeable and patient with guests that were taxing. Excellent price and an amazing experience all around. Listen to what they advise about the heat! You will need water, a hat, and or an umbrella as the sun and heat are relentless.

I thoroughly enjoyed this trip, but for the sake of an honest review, I should point out a few things. The ticket said the tour started at 8am and pick ups start 30 to 60 minutes beforehand. Naturally, I was ready at 7:05am. I waited and waited and eventually my hotel called the tour company thanks Pablo!. I was picked up at 9:39am and I'll let you calculate how long I had been waiting in the lobby. To be honest I quickly forgot this problem, as the tour was great with Jose as our guide. We got about 40 minutes of free time on site, which I would have preferred to be longer perhaps it was shortened by our late departure. The lunch at Mayaland was reasonable. Finally, we visited a cenote. This was pleasant enough but if I were designing the tour from scratch I would swap the time at the cenote for more time at Chichen Itza.

It was difficult to understand the tour guide, and we didn't get much opportunity to take photos because it was so fast-paced. I feel like I didn't really learn anything about Chichen Itza, but at least I can say I've been there. Lunch was really good. The cenote they take you to is 100 pesos per person, and IS NOT included in the tour. Save your money and go to the cheaper cenotes outside of Merida.

Great tour, we stopped at a popular denote afterwards so bring a bath suit and towel! We had access through the side gate into Chichen Itza, which beats the hectic front gate apparently. Then we got to eat at a hotel buffet afterwards, with much variety and traditional dances.

Great English speaking guide Wilbert. This tour uses the Mayaland hotel as base, from which access to the site is quick and convenient. We where there at 11am which was perfect. not too busy The hotels buffet lunch was included and very good. Great tour!

Right from the beginning, our tour guide Wilbur put our small group of 8 at ease. The resulting trip exceeded our expectations. We were picked up on time and had an easy drive to Chichen Itza. Wilbur was empathetic, humorous, and knowledgeable as he took us to major points at Chichen Itza, encouraging questions and providing us with welcome history. We then returned to Mayaland, a nearby luxury hotel for a lovely buffet lunch, then a brief stop at Cho-cho Story a chocolate store near the hotel, and on to X-Cajum, a nearby cenote for an unforgettable dip in this deep pool. Home at the end of the day, we were foot-weary but thrilled with the experience of seeing Chichen Itza with a sense of its history and culture, brought to life with the words of Wilbur. A and we would do this again.

When we have originally signed up, we chose an English speaking tour. It turned out that the tour is both for Spanish and English speakers. Our guide did his best to conduct the tour in both languages but as you can imagine this was very challenging. The tour didn't have a good flow and it seemed there was more information in Spanish, than English. The transportation was great - clean and comfortable. The lunch included in the tour we chose was good too - the restaurant offered many options International cuisine, vegetarian options etc,. We had an opportunity to visit the Cenote near by - it was a fun experience.

Chichen Itza itself is over run with vendors hawking their Chinese made wares. It is crowded and not worth seeing twice. I am glad that I went once and the transportation and guides were good and well organized.

The trip was interesting-led by a bilingual guide. He told us lots of facts, but would go fro long spurts in either language. Shorter switches between languages would have been better. We learned informative vignettes about the Mayan cultural as we went through small towns on the way to Chichen Itza. The site was not too crowded for high season and there was enough shade to keep us out of the hot sun. On the way back to Merida our guide asked if we wanted to stop and see a Cenote, but neglected to tell us there was a fee connected with the visit.

Guide Fransisco gave a fun, well-oranized, and clear daylong commentaryhistorical, cultural, societalon this phenomenal Mayan site, with particular focus on debunking myths about how the Mayan people lived, worked, prayed, and played. We left Merida by 8:30 am, and returned by 5:30 pm, after a visit to Chchen Itza and a nearby cenote. Nice company, fun tour, and a great day.

We were picked up in a timely manner with a very nice, comfortable van. Our tour guide was very knowledgable and could answer all of our questions. We had VIP entrance into Chicken Itza, so we didn't have to wait in line to get in. I did feel a bit rushed to get to the restaurant before the rest of the tour groups, but I guess that's just what happens at a place this popular. It was very hot, so bring water! Lunch was a buffet and I enjoyed the fruit bar and the mexican rice and beans. Afterwards, our guide was more than happy to take us to a local cenote. It was about 20 minutes away going back towards Merida, and not crowded at all. The 70 pesos to get in was not included, but well worth the cool, refreshing water. Overall, a great trip and I highly recommend!

Our tour guide/driver, Israel, was very knowledgeable and personable. He fluently switched between English and Spanish, and despite it was a very hot day, he always found a shade for us to listen to his explanation of the amazing Mayan history. We were picked up between 8am-9am, and drove for about 2hrs to the Chichen Itza site. We were on site for about 2hrs. I wish I had a little more site to explore the ground. We had a buffet lunch at the on-site restaurant food included, but not drinks. We all decided to go to Cenote nearby, so Israel took us on this extra trip. It wasn't part of the tour, so we paid 80 pesos for an entrance and watched people jump into the giant well I didn't have a swimsuit with me for 1hr, then we went back to Merida around 5pm-6pm. There was another van transporting a group to Cancun area. Since Chichen Itza is located between Merida and Cancun, it's a good way to travel. Chichen Itza itself was amazing, and I'm glad I went on this excursion, but personally, I liked Uxmal/Kabah excursion better because there were fewer people and no vendor on the ground to take it away from the ancient atmosphere experience. At Uxmal, we were able to climb up the smaller ruin as well, which we can't do at Chichen Itza. Overall, this was a good trip to take in the UNESCO world heritage site.

I haven't been there in the past 20 years. I was shocked at all the vendors selling junk from China. The ruins are still awesome but all the vendors really are distracting.

There was a small mix up in our case but the tour turned out ok still. I had booked an early morning tour, wanting to avoid the heat, but somehow we were switched to the later tour, and hotel pick up was at 8am and not 6:30am as planned. It was very hot but the tour guide, Israel, made the trip so worth it. He was AMAZING, very friendly, and so knowledgeable. I felt bad for him to have to talk so much in that heat--he had to say everything in both English and Spanish because there was a couple of participants who preferred Spanish. Israel did the explanation effortlessly and he stayed very personable throughout the tour. Chichen Itza sure was a trip worth. Thank you.
