Scottie was picture perfect with every possible picture taken, possible & view or waterfall to experience! He was extremely personable and had a genuine concern that we had a wonderful experience while we were in his care. He knew his history, jokes, & our first names with ❤️. Tim was very careful to make sure our experience was safe & enjoyable. His knowledge of area & flying completely above & beyond anything I would have expected on my 1st helicopter ride. All very friendly !

Best Decision Ever!

Helicopter ride was incredible. So thankful that we did the helicopter ride and only drove one way. The road was long, windy and made a tad dizzy but so happy we only had to do it one way. I would never want to drive that on my own. The road was only a one way many turns which would make it difficult. Scott was our tour guide and he was amazing! I really appreciate all the photos he took. He really knew of all the hot spots, right angles, etc. You can tell he truly wanted you to have a good time and went out of his way to please you. He is very passionate about his job and I loved his attitude.

Best way to see Hana

We loved taking the afternoon tour. It seemed that the crowds had diminished and we didn't have to share the black sand beach with very many people. We were served a variety of roll ups for lunch, along with pineapple, pasta salad, and brownies. It was all fresh and flavorful. The helicopter portion was delightful, we saw our Kihei condo and favorite beaches on the way to the lava fields. Our van driver, Aaron, is a wealth of island knowledge and able to add fun insights into many aspects of our day. We have driven much of this road in previous trips, it was nice to sit back and enjoy the views this time.

WE loved it

It was wonderful! Our guide who drove us to Hana, Gayle, was friendly and knowledgeable. She knew the road well, which is important since that road is so small and dangerous in places. She stopped in all the best places and told us much about the culture. I have celiac disease and was offered a gluten free lunch instead of the regular lunch. Water and juice was all included. I have done the Hana trip before and usually they keep driving on around the island after reaching Hana and that part of the island is not pretty and kind of dull. Much of that road is not very smooth. This time, after reaching Hana, we took a Blue Hawaiian Helicopter ride back to where are cars were parked but Derek the pilot took us all around Haleakala the volcano as well as across the ocean between Maui and Molokai to see the many whales with their calves in the ocean. IT was amazing! Overall it was a wonderful trip and my 17 year old granddaughter said the black sand beach was the "coolest thing I've ever seen" which is high praise.

Aloha, Mahalo for taking the time to review our Hana Sky-Trek tour. Our family at Temptation Tours loves to hear stories from our guests. The high praise comment from your 17-year-old granddaughter will be at the top of our list for some time! We are happy to hear that the lunch was to your liking. The meals are made fresh daily from locally sourced farmers, vendors, and suppliers. The comfort of our Luxury Limo-Vans and their leather captain seats cannot be beaten! Add in the fabulous driving of Gayle, easily manipulating the 617 curves and 54 one-lane bridges and it is a perfect combination. Gayle and all of our Hawai'i Certified Tour guides are well versed in all things Maui. We will make sure she knows how much you enjoyed your time with her. Again, many thanks, Dave and Kathy Campbell Owners Temptation Tours

Rainy Road to Hana & Helicopter Flight
Sara T
, Jan 2020
I am really torn writing this review because I still feel that this could have been an excellent tour, but we were drawn a bad card from the start. To begin, the day of our tour there was awful weather. It was rainy and very windy. From the second we pulled into the parking lot, I had a bad feeling that our tour wasn't going to be anything like what is advertised. I fully understand that the tour company can't control the weather, so I'm not faulting them for that, but they could have postponed our tour for a different day or offered a refund from the get-go. The second we pulled into the parking lot we were instructed to pay the parking meter, but we opted to check-in first to make sure the tour was still on. The person at the front desk instructed us NOT to pay the meter as he didn't think we'd be going on the tour. When we told our guide that we were told not to pay he consistently told us that that was false and we needed to pay the meter. Within 5 minutes of arrival, we already were in an argument with our guide and he wouldn't take someone else's word for what is was worth. Regardless of the bad weather, we were told we'd still be doing the Road to Hana in the rain, and about 30 minutes before the helicopter was scheduled to take off, we'd find out if we were flying. Let me tell you, the Road to Hana in pouring rain is not fun at all. No one wants to get into a waterfall to swim when it's overflowing with rain water and filled with mud. We consistently slipped around in the mud trying to make the most of the day. Our guide, Scott, was also quite aggressive that we had to get the perfect picture and pretty much forced us to go get pictures in the rain. At every turn, he asked for someones camera even when no one wanted a photo. We all reluctantly kept giving our cameras over because we felt bad, but he just couldn't take no for an answer! Low and behold, we got to Hana, the sun did come out for 30 minutes, we had a mediocre lunch, and we were told the helicopter wouldn't be flying due to the bad conditions. So instead of our tour ending at 12:30, we not had to drive +2 hours back on the Road to Hana. We didn't arrive back from the tour until closer to 3pm. The tour company did offer a half off refund or the ability to reschedule the helicopter tour for a different day. We opted to fly two days later, but it did require us to drive back to Blue Hawaiian helicopters again which added another hour of our vacation in the car.

Aloha Sara, Thank you so much for sharing your thoughts on your Hana Sky-Trek with us. We take all feedback quite seriously, and we truly appreciate you taking the time to write a review. From reading your review, it does seem like the weather and conditions just weren't on your side to make your Hana Sky-Trek a perfect tour. We are sad to hear that the waterfalls on this particular trip to Hana didn’t wow you. As naturally-occurring features, the waterfalls on the Road to Hana vary season to season, and often times from day to day in their size and power -- mainly influenced by the amount of rainfall to the area during a particular time. As the weather in Maui is variable on a daily basis, the helicopter flight is also influenced within a 30 minute time period to decide if conditions are safe to fly. We’re also disappointed to hear that you didn’t enjoy your picnic lunch, which has also been very positively reviewed recently. We perform regular checks on the lunches to ensure their quality and have our Tour Guides report back any potential issues. We source a lot of our food locally and meals are prepared fresh, on a daily basis for each tour. You mention only your chicken and Ono fish wraps -- we hope that the fresh vegetable pasta salad, chilled Maui Gold pineapple, and macadamia nut brownies were more to your liking. Temptation Tours is proud of our team of Hawai'i Certified Tour Guides. They are well received and Scott, in particular, is one of our top guides that quite often gets praised for his humor, his knowledge of the island AND for his awesome photography skills. We hope your helicopter flight was enjoyable. Temptation Tours thanks you again for your review, and please don’t hesitate to contact us directly if we can assist you further. We do hope you’ll consider joining us again the next time you visit Maui and hope your travels home were safe and without incident. All the best, Dave and Kathy Campbell Owners Temptation Tours

Worth the Price!

Fearing to get into that helicopter due to the crash the day before, Blue Hawaii made it easy for us to relax and understand this was really safe. Our Pilot, Mike, was terrific and gave us a ride of a lifetime. The mountains and waterfalls are beautiful and seeing Hawaii from 3000 feet up is magical. The Road to Hana guide, Scott, was very fll of information and gracious. He made sure we learned how to take great iPhone photos which we appreciated. Food was good, and he was entertaining. One thing -- Scott needs to slow down when he speaks. Years of saying the same info obviously made him just "roll it off his tongue" -- and that at times was unintelligible. I highly recommend this tour.
