Guided Tour: Caminito del Rey from Malaga

Tour experience was great. Cue line for bathrooms both in parking lot and entrance was ridiculously long. Not the responsibility of the tour but these W/C facilities need to be upgraded/expanded by the park. Claudio was very good, humorous and considerate of slower walkers by repeated the same info many times. Smaller groupings (15-20) would also be an improvement. Well worth the 50 minute bus ride from Malaga.

Poorly organized. Guide was friendly but hard to understand. Timetable was not communicated very well. Be aware that this attraction lacks adequate bathroom facilities.

Well organised tour. Comfortable bus and the guide Teresa was great. The actual walk was fantastic and suitable for all age groups

It was awesome experience!!!! Specially Miss Teresa guided us in detail and all of the details was inclusive of historic information .

The guided tour was very good, plenty of information, beautiful settings and my guide was brilliant.

After reading different reviews, we decided to book this specific tour because it had two advantages over the others: it started at 9.30 instead of 8 and was supposedly a small group with no more than 17 people. However we were messaged by the company Iberian Mobility that we had to start at 8 and there was no option for a later hour (they advised us to read the fine print where they say they can change the times) and we were 59 on the bus. Being a big bus full of people it meant we had to wait for them to check all the passengers. The driver had no list, just gazillions of emails he scrolled through to try to find our names. Finally the guide appeared and she did the same for the rest. She explained that we will be small groups once we arrived there. First lie. Being a big bus, they couldn’t get too close to the entrance, so we had to hike 2,4 km to the entrance on a forrest trail. It was nice, but we arrived late for our entry and there were no more local guides available????? - second lie. They blamed it on some last minute closure of the shorter path, third lie, as I met friends which came in a minibus exactly to the entrance. There we had to wait for the people who wanted to go to the toilets to wait in line and get their job done. It took about 45 minutes. Everybody else skipped the line in front of us fourth lie - you don’t skip anything. You wait your turn. They were so stupid that they randomly divided the group of 59 in 2, and both groups waited for some of their own to pee. They should have taken the ones that didn’t have to go in and let the others wait. So, as there were no more guides for us -they were sold out untill everybody got to the loo, oh wonder of wonders, our guide from the transfer bus, remembered she was a licensed guide there too and took half of the group in. She miraculously had a lot of pictures in her bag to spice her talk up - fifth lie. So a lot of time later, having left the hotel quite early so we could wait for another 57 persons to use the bathroom at the entrance of the attraction, we finally made it in. The Caminito del Rey itself was a really nice outing and the guide tried to do her best to keep us interested. A little bit infantile style for our taste, but she tried her best. However I honestly feel that hiring a car and going there by oneself will be a much better way to experience it. The company should have been honest enough to say that they will not have the small groups and let us decide if we wanted to go

We found our minibus easily for the morning transfer. Most of the participants were already there, about 10 minutes prior to departure. The minibus was very comfortable. Our group was about 20 persons totally. After arrival to Caminito del Rey, we were met by our guide. We walked together towards the hiking track. There was some waiting time to use the bathrooms and to wait for the groups in front of us to get the helmets, but this was ok. We used this time to eat our snacks. After our group got the helmets, we went through the whole track with our guide. We got some interesting information from the guide on several stops. We had enough time to take pictures and enjoy the scenery, without too much waiting for the whole group to keep the same schedule. Our guide made pictures of the participants on the place with glass bottom, which I really appreciated. Our group gathered on the end, where we had possibility to use bathrooms and everybody got a cold drink. After that, we left on the same minibus back to Malaga. Everything went smoothly and according to the time schedule. Me and my friend really enjoyed the tour.
