Luxor Sunset Felucca Ride and Banana Island

Enjoyed a wonderful felucca ride across the Nile river to Banana island. It was only a 20 minute ride across the river (each way), but the captain (uncle) and his two nephews made the trip a blast! On the way back, the youngest nephew played the drum and the whole group sang. While at Banana island, we enjoyed a nice locally cooked meal by the family that lives there. We also toured the banana plantation and saw a few creatures in a mini-zoo in the back. Overall, a simple but delightful trip, as were all of our tours in Luxor.

We loved having Hatem as our guide and companion for our felucca sailing trip in Luxor. I'm so glad we choose this tour for the afternoon, evening sunset plus dinner at Aladdin's on Banana Isle. The experience was one we will not forget! Thank you Hatem & Heba.

We booked this ride for my birthday (Natalie, I am writing under a shared Viator account for my husband and I). We wanted to set this up for our last day to have a relaxing, yet beautiful last night before leaving Egypt. This trip did not disappoint! Heba coordinated all of the booking and from the initial confirmation text on What's App to the actual ride she was engaging, caring, and warm! She made sure that this experience would not disappoint for my birthday. She set us up with Hatem as a guide to banana island. The excursion included lunch/dinner on banana island. The food was fresh and delicious! They provide bananas directly taken off the trees for dessert. The restaurant is directly in front of the Nile for beautiful views. Hatem was very helpful in navigating the orders for us. You are able to walk through the banana fields and going during sunset allows for a very picturesque walk. However, there is not much more to see beyond that. The boat ride on the Nile itself and the dinner was worth the experience due to the time of day of being on the Nile at sunset. It was a very calming experience! Heba and Hatem even surprised me with a birthday cake! It was a beautiful gesture and made to feel like family celebrating my birthday in an amazing country! Would definitely recommend this excursion but more importantly with them! I even booked other guides with them while I was there because I loved them so much! Sailing the Nile at sunset is an experience not to be missed. Captian Ahmed and his crew were excellent and went above and beyond to make our tour fun and unforgettable.
