Your evening tour begins at a central meeting point, where you board a vintage double-decker bus and take off through the city’s darkened streets.

Pass Westminster Abbey and the Banqueting House at Whitehall, the execution site of King Charles I in 1649. Immerse yourself in the tales of execution etiquette in the 17th century, when beheading was the favored act. Learn of skilled executioners and the spectacle that would unravel during bloody public executions at Tower Hill. Then zip past Old Bailey—site of public hangings in the 19th century—and Fleet Street to see where the barber Sweeney Todd gruesomely butchered clients and packed them into meat pies to be guzzled by local patrons.

Your next stop is London’s Smithfield Market. A historic site that began as a meat market in the 10th century, Smithfield witnessed many brutal executions over the centuries. Wander the building and surrounding lanes as you hear about historical figures that met their end here such as Wat Tyler, leader of the Peasants' Revolt, and Scottish patriot William Wallace. Visit Wallace’s memorial and learn about how grave robbing became a popular money-making scheme in the 19th century.

As night falls, arrive at London’s East End, where Jack the Ripper stalked his victims more than 125 years ago. Pass locations where the Ripper’s five victims were found by horrified Londoners. Disembark to follow the murder trail, and discuss theories and suspects that have come and gone, leaving the Jack the Ripper story a great unsolved mystery.

Your tour concludes with a visit to the Sherlock Holmes Pub near Trafalgar Square. Explore Holmes memorabilia and warm yourself with a drink and some crispy English fish and chips (own expense).

Very put off by the bus driving. Tour itself was OK but lacked a bit of storytelling. Certainly learnt a lot about the case.

Good knowledge by tour guide Alan and worth the money. Only down side not enough information and time set aside for Sherlock Holmes, this tour should only be titled Jack the Ripper. Also didn't feel very haunting.

OK so there was no ghost of Jack. But we come close. At night in the dark lost corners of london. We search high and low for him. I places not mentioned in any guide book (I thing). With our amazing guide adding flesh to the bones of the long lost jack the Ripper.

disappointed by the fact you promise to taste fish and chips at the end of the tour, in the sherlock holmes 's pub, while the kitchen was closed and we couldn't eat anything!

We had a blast on this tour. We decided to do it on Halloween night, so it was a little busy- but to be expected. Our tour guide Alan was a blast, he had such a great sense of humor and provided an unbiased and factual tour. He was very interactive with the group and made the tour so much fun. The driver was great as well and also had a great sense of humor. The tour wasn’t scary, so if that is what you’re looking for then I wouldn’t suggest it, but if you want a fun way to experience history, I would highly recommend doing this tour.

AMAZING TOUR

My sister and I recently did this tour and could not speak highly enough! Our tour guide, Allen Doyle (we believe), was an exceptional tour guide who was knowledgable but more importantly - hilarious! We appreciated that though the night focused on Jack the Ripper, our guide took opportunities to tell us about the history of the street of London, gave recommendations for activities and outlined famous movie locations - all of which contributed to a fantastic evening.

More than just haunted London

Lots of entertainment and sight seeing for the money. The double decker bus tour across the city and back added to the value of this experience. Our guide, Will, gave us a detailed account of the Ripper case and also provided lots of interesting facts and tidbits about the history of the city, its buildings, and even famous movie locations. This was a long tour! We were out for over three hours, so dress for the weather and wear comfortable shoes. Be sure to use the restroom before departing and pack a snack or bottle of water. We left the bus station to begin the tour at 19:00, so by the time we got back to our hotel, it was pretty late. Good way to see the city after dark!

Not interesting/ not well prepared/I think that we would have been better off going to Sherlock Holmes pub straight away and watched the Johnny Depp movie about thru Ripper!
