Choose standard class or first class rail travel when you book. Then, on the day, leave central London by train in the early morning and travel to the historical city of Liverpool.

Enjoy the views of the picturesque English countryside during your journey. Then, on arrival at Liverpool’s Lime Street station, enjoy the day to explore the city sites associated with the Fab Four both independently and on a guided Magical Mystery tour.

Perhaps start at the beautifully restored, UNESCO-listed Albert Dock complex on the banks of the fabled Mersey River. Enjoy the river views and amble around this stylish area, home to chic shops, vibrant restaurants, and the Tate Liverpool art gallery and Merseyside Maritime Museum.

Stroll to the Liverpool Waterfront, and use your included entrance ticket to visit The Beatles Story, the world’s largest permanent exhibition devoted to this legendary band. Explore independently and relive the meteoric rise to fame of the four Liverpudlian lads—Paul McCartney, John Lennon, George Harrison, and Ringo Starr—who changed the world and music with their catchy pop tunes.

Learn about their Liverpool childhoods, step inside a replica of the Cavern Club where they first found local fame, go behind the scenes at their Abbey Road studios, relive their last live performance on Apple’s rooftop and much more. When you feel hungry, stop for lunch (own expense) at any of the city’s eclectic restaurants, bars, or cafes. Then, stroll to the meeting point for your afternoon Magical Mystery tour of Beatles-associated sights.

Hop into your comfortable coach and be introduced to places once frequented by the young band. Pass the famous Cavern Club where they played 292 times; see their schools and birthplaces; and pause at sites celebrated in songs such as Penny Lane and Strawberry Fields Forever, all as your onboard guide recounts fun gossip and trivia.

When the time comes, catch your return train back to central London, where your trip concludes in the evening.

Penny Lane
Penny Lane was of course made famous by The Beatles song of that name, released in 1967. John Lennon and Paul McCartney used to meet at Penny Lane to catch a bus into town. Their shared childhood experiences on the street inspired them to write the song, which was released as a double ‘A’ side with ‘Strawberry Fields Forever’ and later featured on the US album ‘Magical Mystery Tour.’ Many Beatles fans make pilgrimage to Penny Lane in the South of the city, to see the street. It’s still a lively area, with independent businesses lining the street. There’s even a barber’s shop in the same spot referenced in the song.
Pass By:
St. Peter's Church, Woolton
“Almost certainly the most important meeting in popular music history” is how the first meeting of John Lennon and Paul McCartney has recently been described. The meeting took place at St Peter’s Church Hall on the evening of Saturday, 6th July 1957… Whilst waiting to play at the church dance that night, John Lennon and the other members of the Quarrymen Skiffle Group were introduced to the young Paul McCartney by a mutual friend.
Stop At:
The Cavern Club
The Cavern Club opened on 16 January 1957 as a jazz club, later becoming a centre of the rock and roll scene in Liverpool in the 1960s. The Beatles played at the club in their early years.

On My Bucket List

First of all I had read other reviews where people said they had trouble finding the tour representative at the London train station. That was not my experience. The representative in uniform found me and was on time and very helpful. The train ride was nice. The Beatles story as well as the Magical Mystery Tour. If you love the Beatles this trip is worth it!
At last!

Awesome Day Trip
, Sep 2019
My wife and two adult children took this day trip at the end of August. It was fantastic. The Beatles Story is exceptionally well done. We spent approximately 2.5 hours there. Could have spent more. The Magical Mystery Tour was great. We had a terrific guide. Sadly I do not remember his name. He was funny, insightful and told some great Beatle stories. Be prepared. It is a long day. The train leaves Euston station at 7:07 am and you return around 9:10 pm. Well worth it for Beatle fans.
Fabulous day but it almost never happened.

No problems with the first class Virgin Train and the full day Beatles Tour. On our printed form the meeting point was very unclear just stating Euston Square Station at 6.30am. The day before I checked Euston station where the trains departs from and noticed it was rather large but noticing the ticket area would be a good meeting place. We arrived at the small Euston Square Station well before time and thinking that because it was small it would be easy to see people. At 6.30 no one showed so ran to the close by Euston station going straight to the ticket area where a lady and a small group with printed tickets were standing. She explained that my ticket was not her companies and directed me to a non descript lady standing close by. She had no uniform, no flag or whatever you are supposed to look for. The young lady was very informative and we made the train in time. I showed her the printout saying Euston Square Station as the meeting place to which she said that it would looked into. Viator, designate clearly the meeting point, no station name mistakes and have your staff wear a distinctive company logoed vest.
Great day for Beatles fans!

This was a great tour! We enjoyed The Beatles Story self-guided display (with headphones) and could have spent more than 2 hours there---great pictures and stories---lots of background info about how the Beatles met and started playing together in the beginning years. The afternoon Magical Mystery tour was also excellent! We saw the childhood homes of the Beatles and learned about their families. We stopped for photos at many locations, including Penny Lane and Strawberry Fields. We enjoyed visiting the Cavern Club! Tips for future visitors: We arrived at the train station in London early and there was no tour representative there. We called the company and they were very helpful. Their representative arrived shortly thereafter and met us in the ticketing area. She had our tickets, maps, and recommendations about how to proceed once we arrived in Liverpool. There is no tour guide with you except on the Magical Mystery tour bus. We had purchased first class tickets for the train and enjoyed the trip and the breakfast on the way to Liverpool. We also had dinner on the return trip, which was ok, but not great. There is LOTS of walking on this trip. It is a full day, but so glad we decided to take this tour!
Great trip for Beatles fans!

This trip is worth it for true Beatles fans. The train ride to Liverpool was nice. Once there, you walk to the dock, spend anywhere from 1-2 hours at the Beatles Story (like a museum/tribute). That had some really good info. Some of it was a bit confusing/out of order. Then you take a bus tour around Liverpool seeing various members houses, and famous landmarks like Penny Lane and Strawberry Fields. Our guide, Dale, was exceptional. He made that tour better than it actually was. The best part was ending up on Matthew street and hanging out at The Cavern. It happened to have been International Beatles week when we were there, so I think that’s why it was so awesome. The negative of the trip was as a person who gets a bit of motion sickness and can’t ride backwards on a train, the company books you seats without asking any questions. I had to find new seats once on the train. They also don’t give specific enough instructions on where to meet in the train station. I had to call prior to the trip. All in all, it was a great trip

When you're in London, I can highly recommend this day was on my so called "Bucket List" and it was fulfilled and then some despite heavy rains...The tour guide Dale is both an affable and knowledgeable tour guide, we learned much and he kept us entertained throughout. This day trip is extremely affordable and well worth your time.
