Pass By:
We will visit the Archeological Sanctuary of Pachacamac, just 30 kms. south of Lima. It was built in adobe with view to the sea and the Lurin river valley.
Stop At:
It was built in adobe with view to the sea and the Lurin river valley. It was a pilgrimage site for many cultures that developed in ancient Peru. Upon arrival of the Incas, the complex was adapted to become an administrative center, respecting and adapting the local constructions. You can find there the Temple of the Sun, the Acllahuasi, the Palace of Taurichumbi, and the Pilgrimage Plaza, among others. We will also visit the Site Museum to get a better insight and appreciate the salvaged remnants of the area. The massive Temples of the Sun and the Moon are known to be the compound's most striking features. Built entirely of clay, an estimated 50 million sun-dried bricks were used in the construction of the Temple of the Sun alone. Excavations in the area continue to reveal further insights into the Moche and Huari cultures that spanned the period from 200 to 800 AD.

Excellent Day
, Aug 2022
We enjoyed our trip to Pachacamac. Our guide was very passionate about sharing Peru's history with us. He was very engaging and informative.
, Aug 2022
Olinda was a phenomenal guide! She was so kind, thoughtful & purposeful in her explanation of everything. Carlos was our driver & he was awesome. The Pachacamac complex is so beautiful! It’s incredible to be here in person to see this place for yourself. It was so cool to see all the different styles & shapes of bricks depending on what century the structures were built. I would pay to do this again I enjoyed it so much.
Interesting and informative tour
, Jun 2022
I really enjoyed this tour to Pachacamac. Logistically it just makes things far easier to see this site on a guided tour rather than making your own way there (your driver can also save you time walking between areas of the site), but I also learned a lot from my guide, who was able to juggle different languages, interests and walking speeds very professionally. Pachacamac is one for the archaeology enthusiasts, if that's you then this experience is highly recommended.

I made the reservation the evening before the trip.Everything went well. The driver and the guide picked me up at the hotel. On our way to the site she gave me already a lot of information. They are very friendly and the guide was just perfect.
Great history Pre-Inca and Pre-Hispanic Archeological site
, Feb 2022
Daniel was a super great tour guide. It was interesting to hear the history preinca. He was very knowledgeable and passionate about the history. A great guide. His English was very good. He also stayed with me until I could get a taxi to the airport and talked to the taxi driver. That was way beyond his job but I really appreciated it because I was traveling solo and had very little Spanish. The site is under excavation and has a lot of work to do. The drive is long to get there. I've seen a lot of archeological site. This one was interesting but not a top 10.

Remarkable History
, Jan 2022
I have to thank that this company for allowing me to reschedule our trip due to COVID. This trip was extraordinary. To see all the territory that the ruins encompass is unbelievable. Danny was a good guide. He presented the history of the ruins and even pointed out other facts along the ride. I think there was a slight language barrier though because some questions that were asked, he didn’t answer but responded with other information. He was kind and thoughtful though and informative. We met a beautiful family that we traded travel stories with so that was an extra bonus.
Cool place to visit only 45 minutes from Lima
, Jul 2021
If you have a few hours to kill I highly recommend a trip to this temple. It's got an interesting exhibit and you get to walk up to the ruins. The view at the top of temple of the sun is worth a hike, you could see the ocean, the valley and the entire complex.

Solo Pachacamac trip
, Mar 2020
Pachacamac was a great experience! I went solo, but joined 4 other people (a group of three and one other solo traveller). Our guide was very knowledgeable and easy to understand. She did a fantastic job of telling us a lot about Pachacamac's history, as well as some of the other areas we drove through on our way out of Lima (Miraflores, Barranco, Chorillos, etc). I very much enjoyed this trip and would recommend it to those interested in Peruvian history.

Well worth a half day excursion from Santiago
, Mar 2020
Very worthwhile tour of this interesting archeological site. Guide gave detailed explanations of everything we were seeing. The tour van was able to drive us halfway up the hill, which was not expected but much appreciated in 28 degree C heat. Great views of the dig and surrounding areas from the top. One tip: Bring your own water, especially if it's a hot day. Several people showed up without water, and were sorry.

Great tour guide
, Dec 2019
Gloria is a great tour guide, she answered all our questions with patience and she cared for us. We went to a shop on the street after visiting the Pachacamac, they don’t accept credit card and I don’t have cash. Gloria saw this and insisted on paying the drink for me. I asked that how should I pay her and she said don’t worry about it. It was really nice and considerate of her and she is a encyclopedia you can ask her everything and she has the answer. It was a great trip and thanks Gloria and driver Luis!!
Very interesting site

Took this tour yesterday and really enjoyed it. Nice informative museum. The smaller tour vehicles are allowed to drive to various parts of the site where you walk a shorter distance. This is helpful due to the huge area it covers.

Excellent guides
, Oct 2019
The tour was great. The guides provided great information along the way to Pachacamac as well as when we got there. The site was very interesting and the museum was very well done.
Not what we signed up for
, Aug 2019
We signed up for an English tour, Not for a tour that explained everything in Spanish first, and spent less time explaining in English afterwards. We were also told to be ready 30 minutes earlier in the morning at 8:30am instead of the 9:00am initial start time, only to have to wait for 1 full hour, until 9:30am, to be picked up.
Fun short outing
, Aug 2019
The tour goes through some Lima neighborhoods and then to the ruins. They look like giant washed up sand castles. The commentary is interesting and the ruins are striking.
Inca and Pre-Inca history
, Aug 2019
The Pachacamac Archaeological site as magnificent and as interesting as Machu Picchu and at near sea level, the hiking around was much easier. The museum is a must visit to understand the pre-Inca and Inca occupation of the site.
Extraordinaire !

A great and amazing tour! Our guide was really nice and told us very interesting things about Lima districts and peruvian civilizations.

Very Good
, May 2019
Picked up at the specified time and location. Guide spoke excellent English. Arrived before the rest of the tourists so we had the place to ourselves. Definitely worth a visit. Only problem was organising the pick up point. The website link when sent didn’t work so I had to contact viator to organise. However this was efficient and easy to do over their webchat service.
