These limestone wonders have deep caverns that protect Hindu deities. Watch monkeys playfully swing from trees around the entrance as you embark up the 272 steps to the top of this famed destination. Hear from your guide why the Batu Caves are considered one of the nation’s most sacred places and gaze out at the incredible views from atop the staircase.

Next up, see how batik is made in Malaysia by visiting a traditional center to learn about the printed or hand-drawn process using wax and dye. Afterward, your last stop of the day is at the Royal Selangor Visitor Centre to explore how to make pewterware.

We had a very enjoyable day. I was surprised that our guide didn't go with us, but considering the number of stairs and how often he takes people there I can't say that I blame him. I would not recommend this tour for anyone incapable of climbing A LOT of stairs, but both the view and the caves themselves were well worth the climb.

Our guide gave us some interesting information about the city, caves etc., but didn't actually accompany us into the caves, leaving us to explore them on our own. That said, there isn't a huge amount to be explained inside the caves themselves. They're decorated in a rather tacky fashion, and unfortunately they're currently undergoing major renovation, so are something of a building site! We still found them interesting to see, and our guide driver was very accommodating about modifying the itinerary to help us see the sights we wanted.

A fantastic tour! Batu caves is a definite must-see when visiting KL. Despite the hundreds of steps up, its very much worth it as the cave and the views are incredible. My guide was very knowledgeable and told me all about the history of the caves and their cultural and religious importance. Highly informative and interesting! He even took me into the Ramayana Cave just around the corner as well, as we were a bit ahead of schedule, which was just beautiful to see! I highly recommend!

Driver was on time and was easy to understand. The cave was very interesting and a must see sight. We passed on a couple of store stops and we had seen them the day before on a previous tour.
