Outstanding Experience

This was a great way to experience Slovenia. Our tour guide Peter made the excursion!! He picked our group of 4 up from our ship promptly at the time we agreed to meet in a clean vehicle and he offered us water. One of the highlights of the trip was Peter taking the time to share the history of Slovenia and Yugoslavia. The cave tour itself was amazing and Peter took care of getting our tickets and instructing us where to go to catch the tour. He waited for us while we did the tour. On the way back to the ship he offered to take us to the winery to do some local wine tasting. What a great way to finish the excursion. I highly recommend booking this tour.

We absolutely loved this tour! Due to port problems, my husband & I were about 15 minutes late, but Peter, the tour operator, was still there waiting. He directed us to a spot where a driver would pick us up to take us to the cave. Our driver, Bojan, was so friendly, spoke very good English, and answered every question we had for him. He tried his best to get us to the cave in time, but we were 4 minutes too late. Not to worry, there would be 1 more tour in an hour. He purchased our tickets, then took us on a short walk where there was a beautiful view of the cliffs and waterfall below.
Our tour of the cave started with a lengthy walk down a hill. Once inside the cave, we were amazed at the enormity of it, winding down & up along a path, stalagmites and stalactites to either side. Words cannot describe the magnificence of it, and just outside the other end was even more beauty. Waterfalls, more caves, trees & vines. It was absolutely amazing.
After a walk up what felt like a million stairs, Bojan was there waiting to take us back to the ship... but instead he offered to take us where ever else we wanted to go. He made some suggestions, and we settled on dinner in a small village a short drive up from the port, where we had the absolute best gnocchi we've ever eaten and washed it down with wine. We enjoyed music, and had some fresh made Miske (a fried treat) from the festival that happened to be going on.
When we were ready, Bojan took us back to Koper and dropped us off close to the cruise port. We were so pleased with the service, from start to finish. This is an experience that we will never forget.
