Petra And Wadi Rum 2 day tour from Jerusalem

Whilst Petra is incredible, this tour was not. We were connected with a local company called “Fun Times” and they were terrible- the guide was crap and had almost no useful information about Petra. The bus broke down on the way to Petra (a really run down bus which had terrible speakers so you couldn’t hear most of the tour guide anyway), there were ongoing delays getting to Petra and this meant that instead of being in Petra for 4 hours we only had 2.5. Someone on the tour was rightly upset about this and the tour guide was extremely rude and unprofessional towards her. It took nearly 10 hours to get from Jerusalem (4am) to Petra (1.30pm). The most annoying thing is that the next day they force you to keep stopping in random towns in Jordan and Israel for hours at a time (longer than the amount of time we had in Petra!!!) because they are trying to cut costs and force you to kill time in various cities so that other groups have time to arrive back to the bus and then have all people from different tours going back to Jerusalem together. It was incredibly annoying and we ended up ditching the tour and paying extra to make our own way back to Jerusalem and not waiting for the tour bus. I will be requesting a total refund as this was total rubbish.

I've booked the tour over 3 months' ago but received a tour cancellation phone call (due to Oct. 9 is 2019's Yom Kippur and the border will be closed) only less than 5 days before the tour. The only viable alternative for me was to switch to Oct. 8's 3 days tour. I have to give up a non-refundable hotel night on Oct. 8, plus losing one day's visit in Jerusalem. The tour was obviously combining different sources of guests and we had to wait for other groups for more than an hour on both ways. The itinerary said we should get to Petra on 11:30 on day 1, we actually got there around 14:00. The hotel room we stayed in Petra was poor in quality, some of the guests simply refused to stay there. The tour guide disappeared on the 3rd day without leaving any instruction and we had to ask around to 'figure out' what, and when, is our next step. Throughout the trip, there were simply too much time spent in waiting.

Petra é linda e misteriosa, mas quem escolhe visitar um país Árabe à partir de Israel, não pode esperar um passeio romântico, certo? A passagem pela migração é grandemente facilitada pelos agentes locais, mas o resto não precisava ser tão demandante assim. Nos oferecem um almoço às 17 e um jantar às 19 ??? A operadora poderia facilitar a volta e não deixar um grupo que dormiu em tendas no deserto esperando 4 horas em Eilat para juntar passageiros numa mesma viagem. Isso é desrespeitoso. Estávamos na fronteira às 15 boras e chegamos à Jerusalém 00:30, quando poderíamos ter chego às 19 hs.

Leider war die Organisation dieses Trips sehr schlecht und die Reiseleiter/Busfahrer sehr unfreundlich. Es wurde wenig zum Programm und den Visumbedingungen an der Grenze erklärt. Der Reiseleiter sprach in einem militätischen Ton zu der Gruppe. An der Grenze zu Jordanien gab es zahlreiche Zeitverzögerungen. Nach 10 Stunden Fahrt im Bus wollte der Reiseleiter zunächst nicht, dass die Gruppe Mittagessen geht und wurde aggressiv. Der Busfahrer hat nicht geholfen das Gepäck aus dem Bus zu räumen und die Gruppe hat bei Rückfahrt an der der Israelischen Grenze mehr als eine Stunde gewartet bis der Busfahrer kam. Er kam auch nur nachdem wir 10 Mal die Reisegesellschaft angerufen haben. Insgesamt hatten wir No FUNTIME und diese Reisegesellschaft sollte unbedingt gemieden werden.

Magnifique tour, les sites de Petra et de wadi rum sont à couper le souffle. Le bémol est l'organisation du tour qui manque parfois d'information claire sur le programme à venir. Le passage à la frontière jordanienne est un peu long. Munissez vous bien des 125 dollars requis. Le deuxième jour, une attente de 3 heures dans un centre commercial pour attendre le bus du retour n'était pas la bienvenue. Mais malgré ces désagréments. Le tour vaut largement la peine. Enjoy!
