Enjoy the breathtaking views (and breathtaking walk) out on the Glacier Skywalk, a glass-bottomed walkway situated 1,000 feet above the valley below. This unique viewing platform is the perfect spot to take your Alberta visit to new heights with incredible views and fascinating on-site exhibits.

Travel on your own along the Icefields Parkway – one of the most stunning highways in the world, with views of more than 100 glaciers and other alpine landscapes, before arriving at the Columbia Icefield Glacier Discovery Centre, where your Glacier Skywalk experience begins. Board your coach for the quick five-minute transfer to the Glacier Skywalk, after which you’ll have plenty of time to explore the site at your leisure. It’s recommended you allow at least 45 minutes, though you’re free to stay at the site until closing time, when the last coach returns to the Columbia Icefield Discovery Centre.

Step out onto this incredible glass-bottomed viewing platform (called Discovery Vista) feeling your heart pump as you take in the amazing views of the nearby glacial valleys and snow-capped peaks of the Canadian Rockies. If you’re looking for more to do while on-site, check out the Discovery Trail, offering interpretive displays on the region’s geology, biology, ecology and Aboriginal history, plus a walk along a cliff-edge boardwalk with great views of the valley.

For full details on the two different sections of the Glacier Skywalk, please read the itinerary details below.

Advance ticket purchase pointless

It was okay. First we bought tickets online but still had to stand in a long long line up to redeem. Would of been way better if they had a kiosk set up to make this process way faster. By the time we got our tickets our teens were over it and wanting to just leave. Once we got to the sky walk we enjoyed it, very nice views and got really nice pictures

The Glacier Skywalk is a fun experience. The tour is well organized. You are dropped off by bus at the entrance and you can catch a bus every 15 minutes when you want to leave. There are several information displays on the way to the actual skywalk - including how the skywalk was built. All are very interesting. The glass skywalk is incredible to walk around and the views of the mountains is spectacular.

Disappointed in the fact that calling it a Glacier skywalk led us to believe it was over a glacier, not where there once was a glacier.

Badly signposted from Jasper end of the ice fields parkway. The actual discovery centre was a few kilometres down the road from the skywalk. The discovery centre was extremely busy like an airport. Even though we had a ticket from Viator, we still had to queue up to have our ticket verified then queue for for bus to take us to the skywalk. Could not arrange the weather but it it poured with rain and high wind when we got there so saw very little. No sign of any glaciers except the dry u shaped valley which could be seen from the roadside. Long queue and wait in the rain to wait for the shuttle back. We wished we had parked in the car park near the actual Athabaska glacier so we could do the trail right up to see it it but as so much time wasted waiting for buses etc we ran out of time as it was getting late to get to our next destination. A waste of money and time.Very disappointed.

I did not get to go on this tour, and the number on the itinerary was a dead number. This tour comes up as part of Jasper excursions but it 1.5hrs drive and whilst I accept my failing in not realising the inability to get there without own car. The incorrect telephone number for Brewster on the voucher is a failing of Viator.

This is interesting to see. But really it's just a Skywalk so there's not much to say because it's pretty much what you'd expect. The only reason I gave it 4 stars was that there are no clear signs indicating where to buy tickets. That wasted a lot of time driving back and forth.
