What To Expect

Start your evening tour with pickup from your central Istanbul hotel, and head into the heart of historical Sultanahmet. As you walk, hear from your guide about Istanbul’s history and how it has left its legacy on the city’s cuisine.

Wander through the bustling streets, passing some of Sultanahmet’s landmarks, and get insider tips from your guide on great places to eat and must-try delicacies.

While you talk and absorb the evening ambiance, wend your way to Taksim Square and enjoy four food stops to sample some classic local dishes. Samples may vary, but expect to taste favorites such as a mouth-watering lamb shish kebab, a juicy meatball, and a fried mussel kebab; a string of lightly battered mussels threaded onto a skewer.

As dusk falls, enjoy the magical sunset views over Sultanahmet’s minarets from the Galata Bridge, and take in the sight of the Galata Tower on the opposite bank.

This was a very nice tour. We really enjoyed the genuine Turkish cuisine and also saw places we couldn’t on our own. Our guide, Ayhan was really nice and attentive. He contacted me from the beginning of my booking and made experience pleasant. This tour is highly recommended as a part of Istanbul experience.

Our tour guide was Ayhan. He met us at our hotel and we walked and used the metro to see various sites in Istanbul as he explained the history and culture. Since it was Ramadan, he suggested we wait until 8:30 to eat. So we chose to do that and experience Ramadan for one night! He gave us choices but ordered for us at a restaurant named Sabirtasi. He was very accomodating to my daughter who is a vegetarian. Afterwords we continued to walk around the city and ate Turkish delights at Keyleder. We only had 24 hours in Istanbul so we wanted to maximize our time. Ayhan made our evening so much more enriching than if we had tried to wander around on our own. This was an excellent tour and I would HIGHLY recommend Ayhan as a tour guide!!
