Returns to original departure point
Make your way to a meeting point in Inverness city center, then board a top of the range, 16-seat Mercedes mini-coach for the trip to Benromach Distillery. Join a tour of the distillery, whose Scotch is made with spring water from the nearby Chapelton Springs, and follow the traditional distilling process from start to finish—with the option for a whisky tasting (distillery tour own expense).

The next stop of the day is Elgin, where you can break for lunch and enjoy time to explore Elgin Cathedral and the town’s destination-worthy whisky shop.

Meet back up with the group and travel to Glenfiddich Distillery, a family-owned operation with award-winning single malt and a gorgeous setting in the hills. Upon arrival, you may join the distillery tour or head to nearby Balvenie Castle, whose 12th-century ruins are surrounded by thick forest (distillery tour and castle own expense).

This full-day tour concludes at the original departure point.
Itinerary
Stop At:
Glenfiddich Distillery
Arguably, the distillery that created the global demand for single malt whisky. This distillery produces the largest quantity of whisky in Scotland. But it’s far from a sterile factory, this is a historic distillery created by a famous whisky pioneering family, and the traditions and age of the site are evident. Your guide here gives you an extensive tour including a tasting of the core range of Glenfiddich’s delicious whiskies.
Duration: 2 hours
Admission Ticket Not Included
Stop At:
Benromach Distillery
This small-scale independently-owned distillery is our first distillery of the day. The friendly staff at the distillery explain how they make whisky and show you the different areas of production before giving you a wee sample of the golden-hued spirit itself. This distillery does whisky the old fashioned Speyside way. Slowly with a little bit of smoke.

Speyside is possibly the most relaxing part of the Highlands, and so was this tour. No rush, just an enjoyable trip around some beautiful places (on a day blessed by a shining sun) and a good amount of tastings of great whiskys. I appreciated the chance to stop by hidden gems of this country and to enjoy the hospitality of two great distilleries. Our guide, Helen, was knowledgeable and entertaining. She also had an interesting playlist of charming songs, although I probably was alone in my extreme appreciation for the Proclaimers. A must, if you want to mix some whisky tasting with beautiful landscape and very personal tour experience.
