After hotel pickup in the morning from Hanoi's Old Quarter, you're driven to Halong Bay. The World Heritage area in the Gulf of Tonkin is designated by UNESCO for its seascape of nearly 3,000 uninhabited rocky islets.

During the roughly 4-hour drive, depending on traffic conditions, you'll pass through the famed Red River Delta. Enjoy a brief stop at Hai Duong City, where locals manufacture gifts and souvenirs.

On arrival around midday, step aboard your cruise boat for a tour of the limestone formations, and discover many names inspired by their shapes: Pelican Grotto, Chopstick Rock, Butterfly Rock, Turtle Rock, Fishman’s Head, Fighting Cocks, Sea Dog, and more. Soak up the magnificence while you dine on a seafood lunch.

You have the option of kayaking to grottos like Surprising Cave, swimming, or relaxing on the sun deck (drinks available for purchase). Then, your boat returns to the wharf in the late afternoon, here discover the stalactites and stalagmites of the Thien Cung cave before being transferred back to your Hanoi hotel by car or coach.

Overall tour was ok You didn’t go to a nice area to swim when you got to the bay Drinks are a lot more expensive so I suggest you take your own If you are looking to go to Halong bay just to swim This is not the tour for you However if you are looking for a tour with a variety then this is the one for you Lunch was meh
A pleasant way to visit Halong Bay; absolutely recommended for travelers with little time

The overall satisfaction for the day trip was really high. Services have been provided on time, with professionality and politeness. The bus was in good condition, clean, well climatized and fully effective for the purposes of the trip. Driving style was calm and made the long trip (almost 4 hours each way) easy. All transfers, boat boarding procedures and access to attractions were smooth and quick. The cruise offers the possibility to enjoy the beauty of the bay; also the lunch provided onboard was good. Kayaking and visit of surprise cave were very funny and interesting. A special mention for Mr. Chris, the young tour guide who was very polite, professional, knowledgeable and generous of information for the group. I warmly recommend this tour to travelers who spend a little time in Vietnam and and don't want to miss such a beautiful place.
Breathtaking views

Halong Bay is incredibly beautiful and it is a must see in Vietnam. All the attractions during this trip were quite well prepared - bus transport, boat cruise, cave visiting, swimming. The only disappointment (small but still) was the kayaking/ bamboo boat. The reason for that being that if you are solo you can’t take kayaking as an option which would give you a 45min of rowing around, instead you have max. 15min bamboo boat trip which is way too short to enjoy the bay with monkeys. The tour guide (Jerry) was ok.

First, just want to say that our tour guide was such a nice guy. He really kept a positive attitude the entire trip. This trip was a long day, so transportation comfort is a must. Unfortunately, that wasn't the case. It was over 120 degrees Fahrenheit outside and we desperately needed ac. The bus lacked this. It was scorching hot outside and inside the bus. HORRIBLE...HORRIBLE...HORRIBLE. The stopping points were in markets that were really aggressive in trying to sell you were followed everywhere. Felt like I was in a shark tank. The port itself was very crowded so watch out. The lunch...honestly wasn't good. The fish was gross. I was so disappointed. They started serving the food when we were still docked, which might have been okay but there was so much exhaust fumes from other boats that it was counterproductive to having a good meal. The ladies aboard were very aggressive in selling their goods. Crazy. The cave was amazing and our tour guide was a lot of fun. Our kayaking experience was great. Overall could have been a great experience if the mode of transportation had AC. We were all dreading the 4 hour ride back home.

Lovely tour with a delicious spread for lunch. The guide was friendly and eager to answer questions. There are breaks for Fishing Village and Cat Ba Island Cave. The cave climb is long and at times slippery so do wear appropriate footwear and be mindful if travelling with anyone who has mobility issues

It was as the description said. The boat ride served lunch. Although it was plentiful, it was mediocre. We saw many tour guides went with their people to talking about the cave, but my tour guide only met back with us at the end.

This was my 3rd visit to Halong Bay. The friends my husband and I traveled with have never been to Vietnam so we knew we needed to bring them on this tour. Our guide was friendly but he didn't offer us any history or explanation about Halong Bay. When we visited the caves, he just pretty much let us walk around on our own and having been before, I knew there was a lot of information our friends did not receive because it was a self guided tour. The stops we made along the way for bathroom breaks were also way too long. Everyone in our group was ready to leave after about 10 mins but ended up having to stand around for the full 25 mins. We also made a random stop on the way back to pick up a family that was hitching a ride from our driver on the way back to Hanoi. It was very odd.

Although the weather did not help at was still a beautiful place that I would recommend for a one day tour from Hanoi. Tour was very well organized and lunch was very nice. Only recommendation is if having a big group as ours to get at least 2 tour guides. so that, they can be more engaged with the group and provide more insight on visits i.e. caves. PS: Super thankful for helping me arrange transportation back to the airport to catch a flight at the end of the tour on time. :
