A wonderful taste of Florence

We began or experience meeting our guide Filomena by the statue of Dante in Piazza di Santa Croce. A few steps away was our first tasting - Bruschetta with a nice white wine. My wife has never eaten tomatoes so when she devoured the first piece I was surprised. The difference was freshness and flavor of the the local tomatoes. Fil made sure we were happy and finished before we took a leisurely walk to Piazza dei Ciompe where she got us some wonderful pasteries at the Forno dei Ciompe. Next we made our way to the Mercato di Sant’Ambrogio where we sampled some prosciutto, cheeses and a surprise - lampredotto, a typical Florentine dish. Our next stop was a trattoria where we sampled two different fresh made pastas, one with red sauce and the other with truffle sauce both delicioso! Another couple of stops including a gelato finish completed a perfectly satisfying experience with Filomena and the tastes of Florence

Good food and interesting bsck history to some food and places. But it didn’t feel too much history! We had a good group and it was interesting to meet people from different countries. Food and venue wasn’t amazing but good. The whole experience felt authentic and as advertised. Plenty of wine.

Bang for your buck, fun way to see the city

We did this tour on our first evening in the city, it was a great introduction! Irene was wonderful!! It was a very small group, six of us total. We went to four restaurants plus a snack. Each stop with a glass of wine. Finished with gelato. You more than got your moneys worth, plus it was an amazing way to see the city with a knowledgeable, funny, charismatic local! Highly recommend.

We went with the guy to eat any, it was definitely the highlight of the trip. Not only did we go to five different places and each place we had food and alcohol to discover, but Irene also gave us a bit of history of the city show this very entertaining videos about Italy and was overall very passionate about food. Definitely recommend as the highlight of your visit

Martinie was amazing!! Great tour that highly highly recommend! Casual pace, visited 5 places and get a full glass of wine at each stop along with different food tastings. Another highlight is that you go away from tourist attractions to local restaurants! One of the highlights of our trip with a great smiling, funny and eager to educate tour guide willing to answer our questions!

A fun and relaxing evening.

We had a very enjoyable wand we learned a lot. Our host Lucia is an absolute legend. She took us to some fantastic places away from the touristy areas and explained about the local food and wine in a knowledgeable and engaging way. She never rushed us and it was a very relaxing evening. Lucia also explained some really interesting history along the way. We were fortunate to share the tour with a lovely couple from New York which added to the experience. Highly recommended. Grazie Lucia!!

I've done two dozen different food tours across the world from Taipei to Toronto and Amsterdam to Lisbon to Strasbourg. Without a doubt, this food tour in Firenze was a hit and it was a whole lot of great food. Bruschetta, sliced meet, lampredotto, sliced meats, great cheeses, coffee, pastry, gelato. I had a box of leftovers that was lunch the next day. We spent more than three hours walking around Florence, getting to see some of the best off-the-track restaurants and several interesting cultural sites along the way. Not as much distance as I've done on some tours, which was nice. But lots more wine and that's a good thing!

Great walking food tour with Lucia

Had a great Florence walking food tour with Lucia last night. Loved the mixture of history and wine and food experiences it provided. Lucia took us around parts of the city that we had not visited before and that catered to locals and not just tourists. Loved Lucia’s commentary, she has a really warm and engaging style. Was great to meet and share the experience with other couples visiting from around the world as well. Recommend this tour and Lucia as a guide as well!
